People are never satisfied. When you have something you complain, when you don’t, you complain. I guess this is what people call human nature.

The last time I check I am still a human, so I guess I cannot avoid from the fact that I do complain once in a while. I used to complain about Chinese Food until I am here.. a place that makes me pork-free for almost 3 weeks now.

Looking back, I did actually spent a great time in China, Shanghai in particular. Old photos remind me of this Gui Hua Lou Restaurant in Shangri-la Pudong.

Now, I hardly even see any oriental food within my vicinity. Although this restaurant is just another Chinese Restaurant.. it reminds me of my root, a Chinese one where dim sum should be my breakfast.

I miss this fried spring roll and century egg porridge every morning. I tried to order porridge here but guess what, the hotel serves me with oatmeal porridge instead of rice porridge, how sad .

Believe it or not, I hardly find soy sauce or sweet chilli sauce. If this continues, I guess I will start writing on my travel instead of food. Or worse, you don’t get to read my post anymore as I might starve to death here.

It doesn’t matter if the char siu pau or siu long pau is good here but I can tell you it is a lot better than most of places I have been. I wonder when I will get a chance to go back to this restaurant again.

Try to put yourself in position with no pork and alcohol free for 3 weeks. It is rather torturing. The feeling is like pregnant lady who are craving for certain food. Ohh I never pregnant before but I have big belly that the effect is almost the same.

Aww.. looking at this porcupine custard bun shows how creative and insensitive a human can be,  creative because the chef can creates a miracle with scissors on pau and insensitive because his customer is an animal lover.

If you are cruel enough to take the first bite, the sandy custard blood of porcupine is melted in your mouth.  I tried it for sure and kept the other two as souvenirs

Chee cheong fun with big prawns or char siew is my all time favourite. When it serves with a glass of Chinese tea, just makes the breakfast as wonderful as it can be.

With RMB 163.30 (~RM 80), you are completely ready to start your wonderful days ahead. Slap by reality now, I have to figure out what I need to order for my breakfast, not bread and butter again

There is an old saying “When you shit, don’t expect others to wipe for you”. Maybe last time they don’t have the sophisticated toilet seat like the one in Best Western New Seoul Hotel.

This is not a disgusting post but what I am trying to say is, finish what you have started. So, I will complete my roadside food hunting journey here. Wink Wink.. ok.. stop wondering about how much my bottomless stomach can take in one day.

After a short milkshakes break, I scented a wonderful aroma from a food stall not very far away. I have to clarify, it is definitely not stinky bean curds but rather a whole range of steamy food. My feet automatically walked towards that direction like mice going after the cheese.

I ordered this skewer Fu Chok alike food which I have no clue what it is called in Korean. At first I thought it is nothing but a type of noodles but this turn out to be exceptionally good. The soup that comes with it tastes super awesome too. Maybe it is full with MSG but who cares?

While walking along the Myeongdong road, I noticed this stalls that sells roasted chestnut. What I find it special is the way they roasted the nut. Oh yea. I love nuts. Instead of using hard work to stir the hot wok manually, they used a special automated rotating basket. Simply clean and easy! Smart right?

I came across this old lady who sells some type of worms and vege. The worms are still alive for godsake. I nearly want to try one but the lady told me it has to be cooked first. So, no luck for me!

BUT BUT.. I also came across this small stall by the corner of the road that sells “tall” yogurt ice-cream. It is about 25 cm in height but due to some optic illusion, I cannot show it in photos because I am too busy eating it after that. Lucky me isn’t it?

If you think that ice-cream is my dessert, you are wrong! I managed to stalk a stall that sells sugar biscuit. Sugar biscuit? Yea literally the biscuit is made of sugar and nothing but sugar only. It was then roasted until the sugar melt (turn into slightly brownish) and …

Walla.. the sugar biscuit is made. Sweet and slightly bitter but the combination of the taste makes it very special. It is almost like hokey pokey. I tried one with a bunny shape since I am the animal “not” lover but I cannot finish it as I can sense I am a step closer to be a diabetic.

Now come to skewer hotdog with spiral potatoes. Well, it is just a typical hotdog with potatoes actually but it is creatively produced. I am not a fan of hot dog and potatoes but I still buy it to compliment for their creativity.

How often you can get that right? Simple thing that make it so complicatedly presentable. I did actually walk towards the seller and said this is a very smart idea to sell their products although I don’t know if she knows what I am saying or not.

While touring around this area, I saw a lot of Korean drinking these two type of drinks. Well, since a lot of people drink it, it must be real good. So I manage to dig these two types of drinks. Not too expensive and you can easily get it from any store.

And my advice is, try to ask for a sip from the passerby first before you buy it because i) you might prone to puke ii) you might make an extra friend in an unfriendly manner iii) you might get a free stencil of five finger on your face.

Coming from “shy & conservative” background, I decided to spend 5000 won to get those two. Just to try. Not bad actually but not so good either. It taste like melted vanilla lime ice – cream and ordinary orange juice.

Hmm.. that complete my food hunting journey (P/S: what you see is probably 10 % of what I actually ate on that day.. of course I did not blog about food that is not so good!)

Please come back before 12 am or you will turn into pumpkin. That is like an epic curfew line you normally hear from fairytales. The truth is, your dad will call you every 5 min after 11pm until you get home? Did I get that?

My mom said, “Son, how come you always stay at home. Go out and meet some friends. If don’t have money, let me know..” So, without procrastinating, I accepted a date with not one girl but a bunch of girls. AND guy too of course.

Where about? We travel all the way to pyramid for dinner with my private jets. Ok. Maybe I am a bit over exaggerating. We travel to Sunway Pyramid by CAR for dinner in FRAMES.

Nice place? Oh yea. There are indeed a lot of nicely decorated frames there. Lucky enough all the tables are well set awaiting for our arrival. Sounds grand right? Of course, I am out with bloggers and we have ethics and standard. Lol.

This is my 101 times hanging out with bloggers this year. So, mom no longer asks me to go out anymore. However she started to ask me if I will be back for dinner almost everyday? (that is another new version of curfew.. but I pretend I don’t know).

I can tell you there are almost 20 ++ interesting bloggers over there. They might not be as famous as Kenny Sia or Xia Xue but all of them are great people. At least in my eyes, else, why I want to hang out with them right? AND for some reason I feel younger despite I AM YOUNG now.

Hmm..I know you are going to say .. the food looks so delicious. Yes.. I don’t deny my cam cam skills are acceptable. So, is the food quality good? Personally, I did not try all of it so I do not want to give bias decision here.

Why we chose the place? We all purchased RM29.90 worth voucher just for dining in Frames. Is it a good deal? Absolutely! With RM 29.90, you get 2 Ice lemon tea, 2 person meals AND free RM 50 voucher per purchase of the voucher (for next visit).

You have the options of choosing spaghetti or burger set for your main course. Of course they are smart enough not to let you choose 2 spaghettis at the same time. So if you bring your gf with you. Be gentleman and let her choose first.

Or if you are smart enough, be like me. I purchased a voucher and I didn’t bring any dates. So you get to eat BOTH! Okok. I know it sounds a bit sad, I get it!

But hey.. who cares it is sad or not, as long as my tummy is super happy. Imagine ur tummy get the best of both worlds. I’m not talking about fat over here but the satisfaction.. Well, I am not as selfish as you think. I do share out my beloved fish burgers to other bloggers too ok?

I am not fancy on ice lemon tea whether it tastes better if you buy it yourself or it is free but I am totally into strawberry milkshake. My favorite all time drink that never disappoint me.

If you noticed, I did not comment much about food here. Why? Because my main focus here is spending time with all those chicks and handsome dude out there.. Damn the guy in circle looks super awesome and handsomely attractive. Wonder who is him?

Money is never enough? I bet everyone agrees with that.. duh.. but what if you have too much money to spend? Aha.. Where will you spend it, how will you spend it and what will you spend it on?

Last time, I used RM 50 to get delicious and filling food in SS2 Foodcourt. This time, I have decided to spend more in Fisherman’s Cove. Am I rich? Am I having too much money to spend? No. Of course not.  

Life is short! You need to pamper yourself from time to time right? Fisherman’s Cove located at Feast Floor in Starhill Gallery, KL. The wooden & bamboo décor makes this a perfect place for romantic dinner.

My requirement is simple. I am willing to pay more if the food is really good but I am not willing to spend even a penny if the food is lousy. I know my wallet is going to bleed if I come to this place but hopefully the food is really good.

Let’s see what I have ordered. Chicken & Fish Platter, Medallion Beef and watermelon Mojito as my appetizer, main dish and drinks.

From the glance of it, the food portions are really small. The fact is, the food portion IS REALLY REALLY SMALL. I am concern if my fat can be fed sufficiently.

Let me focus on what I really like here. I like the Chicken & Fish platter. The fish texture is soft and the sauce tastes really good. The fish is so fresh and it doesn’t have the fishy smells that many dislike.

The half cooked Medallion Beef tastes great too. The beef texture is slightly tenderly and boiled button mushrooms taste just blended nicely when eats it together with beef.  

Last, the dessert! Choco Pudding. Pertly make and it took about 15 minutes to prepare. I must say that this is the best choco pudding that I have ever tried so far. The choco is not too sweet and the orange ice cream makes me craving for it until now.

I spent about RM 180 in total. Expensive? Well, a little bit but I will come back again for sure. WHY? The money is worth spending because the food tastes awesome.

Shahrul, the assistance manager even dropped by to introduce himself and promoting the RM 3.50 per plate offer from 3 – 6 pm daily in Fisherman Cove. Worth it don’t you think?

What you need

i) Sweet Coconut

ii) Big knife

iii) Big mug

iv) Old newspaper

v) Spoon

Step by step method

Step 1 : Make sure the coconut is clean from dirt, sand etc.

Step 2: Cut the top part of the coconut. Do not over cut the top part or else the coconut water will spill out.

Step 3: Drain the coconut water before chop them open.

Step 4: Chop the coconut and split them into half.

(The picture below is purposely put in wrong sequence to see if you are following the steps that I wrote :P)

Step 5: After chop the coconut into half, now you can use the spoon to scoop the coconut meat out.

Step 6: Now, the coconut water is ready to be served with coconut meat. No sugar added.
