Room Service

Hello, can I call for room service? Ok.. What service do you want, sir? We provide all kind of services to our customers including some special one.

I am curious about the special one but let’s not get there. This is a typical type of conversation you will have when you call front desk in hotel. Nothing special about it.

Try again if either of you do not speak English. The conversation will become as challenging as what Chinese said, like chicken and duck speak.

Believe it or not, a simple mushroom soup will turn out to be the most difficult soup to order. If the soup turns out to be tasteless, the effort just goes to drain. Luckily, it did not happen to me this time.

By right, most menus should be numbered. It simplifies the communication between the guest and the hotel when in urgent need. When come to this, pictorial menu is completely useless.

Imagine how I ordered Sirloin Steak with Tiger Prawns and Fries, medium rare? The waitress for sure is patient and polite but probably in her mind, she will say this “What the F*** are you talking about?”

In normal circumstances, I will order a soup, main course, desserts and a drink. Now, the conversation is not only testing her patience but mine too.

The Banana Fritter and ice cream is one of the tough one. I know how to describe banana and ice cream but definitely not fritter in foreign language. I nearly fainted when I ordered strawberry milkshake and turned out to be orange juice.

All the hard works did paid off when the dinner was finally sent to my room but 30 minutes late. This is really a milestone for me and in fact one of my biggest fear in foreign places. Imagine if they sent “something special” and not food!

Breakfast in Prince Hotel KL

It is not a crime if you don’t feel like making your own breakfast. It is just a sign of laziness that flow in your bloodstream. Please don’t blame me for having a luxurious breakfast when I know roti canai in mamak stall is just < RM 1

If you read my post on Prince Hotel & Residence KL, you know that I got a complimentary breakfast here. From my hard scouting work, I managed to locate a breakfast spot on ground floor of this hotel. (Duh.. most of the restaurant located at ground floor)

From far, you can smell the fragrant of the typical Asian and Western breakfast. Entering the restaurant is like entering the heaven of food. You might not realize that especially when every local food is within your reach.

Try when you did not come in contact with Malaysian Food for the few months. The feeling is like ant dying for sugar.

Like many restaurant, this place serves Asian cuisines, Western breakfast, cereals, desserts, drinks etc. If you are still fuzzy about it, there are few dedicated chefs cook for you. Name it and normally you won’t get it, except for omelets, scramble eggs or fried eggs.

As many might know, the kitchen crews will freshly prepare the food in the very early in the morning before the arrival of guests. This is to ensure all the hotel guest will be fed when the clock is ticking at 6am.

I got lucky when I reach just about 30 min before 10 am. All the food is still there. It shows that the chefs are constantly re-filling the food. Yes.. it is a buffet style and that makes me like it even more.

Nasi Lemak is a must. It is served with beef and chicken rendang, sambal, anchovies, eggs and my very own mixture with bacons and pancakes. My hungry stomach got better when I finished up my second round of western breakfast.

Burpp.. Asian + Western + fresh fruits = perfect breakfast. If you are in KL and want to try something extraordinary, make sure you drop by here. It is not about the food but it is the ambience that counts!

Travelling in Golden Class

If you are holding a DSLR, you are prone to unnecessary attention. Is it cute girls asking you to take their photos? Neh.. not that kind of attention but people tend to have a bias views on you.

It is rather hard to hide your skills especially when people thought that you are paparazzi, private detective or maybe you are a nerdy photographer. Not knowing the real you, they will just stopped you and said, “Sir, you are not allowed to take photos in here”.

Hello, I have not even turn on my camera or open my lens cover yet. Duh.. Should I laugh at their ignorant or appreciate their courtesy? This is not a joke, k? This is based on true story that happened when I was in Golden Lounges in various countries.

To avoid superfluous embarrassment, my wife a.k.a iPhone will normally come very handy. What I normally do here is sneaking around all “business” men and catch them with their silly stunts :P . Some caught sleeping with drooling effect :P

Beside free food and drinks, free internet, free bla bla bla, there is a spot which I fail to take photos, the massage room. I really wonder if there is a pretty masseuse on action or just a robotic massage chair?

Remember all long queues before boarding the plane? It is not happening this time. Lucky me because I get to go through the priority lane like any other aging man, pregnant lady or those with kids. Yea I am pregnant and still like kids :P

Not to mention there was an air stewardess stopped me and said, “Sir, you have to queue up in economy lane” and stunt later after saw my ticket. Before the plane board, I managed to camDUCK myself in golden class.

Yea.. I didn’t dress up smartly when I travel, normally with only t-shirt and jeans. Sometime I didn’t even comb my hair or with my unshaved moustache. Why need to dress up? I thought we suppose to travel comfortably? Besides, I have no one to impress as well!

Why I like to travel? Free food! And in-flight entertainment. Before they served me with appetizer, an air stewardess approached me and asked for my age. She claimed that I am very young.

That conversation is not related to this post but would like to emphasize that she claimed “I am very YOUNG” hehe..

There is nothing much to talk about in-flight appetizers. Why? The portion is too small and I finished it before it can activate my taste buds.

But the main course is different! Absolutely different! Most of the time, you get a few choices, Western, Asians or local food. I managed to capture all main courses that I took from all the flights that I board recently.

Of all, there is one special one. Bim Bim Bak. This is a traditional Korean rice with mix vege, meats and pickles (see photos above – the bottom one). I called it “rojak” rice as you need to mix everything in on bowl before you dine it.

All taste equally good but a meal is never complete without dessert. Strawberry Haagan Dazs was served as dessert. Once I tried it, I want more.. hehe.. ice cream always makes me happy and that is why I label it as happy food.

What I do next on the plane? Watch movie and sleep laa.. What else I can do, right? Err.. Ok.. I was disturbed by a group air stewardess as usual.. Not I disturb but being disturbed instead.. wonder why but I am going to censor that in here.

Nom with Blogger at FRAMES!

Please come back before 12 am or you will turn into pumpkin. That is like an epic curfew line you normally hear from fairytales. The truth is, your dad will call you every 5 min after 11pm until you get home? Did I get that?

My mom said, “Son, how come you always stay at home. Go out and meet some friends. If don’t have money, let me know..” So, without procrastinating, I accepted a date with not one girl but a bunch of girls. AND guy too of course.

Where about? We travel all the way to pyramid for dinner with my private jets. Ok. Maybe I am a bit over exaggerating. We travel to Sunway Pyramid by CAR for dinner in FRAMES.

Nice place? Oh yea. There are indeed a lot of nicely decorated frames there. Lucky enough all the tables are well set awaiting for our arrival. Sounds grand right? Of course, I am out with bloggers and we have ethics and standard. Lol.

This is my 101 times hanging out with bloggers this year. So, mom no longer asks me to go out anymore. However she started to ask me if I will be back for dinner almost everyday? (that is another new version of curfew.. but I pretend I don’t know).

I can tell you there are almost 20 ++ interesting bloggers over there. They might not be as famous as Kenny Sia or Xia Xue but all of them are great people. At least in my eyes, else, why I want to hang out with them right? AND for some reason I feel younger despite I AM YOUNG now.

Hmm..I know you are going to say .. the food looks so delicious. Yes.. I don’t deny my cam cam skills are acceptable. So, is the food quality good? Personally, I did not try all of it so I do not want to give bias decision here.

Why we chose the place? We all purchased RM29.90 worth voucher just for dining in Frames. Is it a good deal? Absolutely! With RM 29.90, you get 2 Ice lemon tea, 2 person meals AND free RM 50 voucher per purchase of the voucher (for next visit).

You have the options of choosing spaghetti or burger set for your main course. Of course they are smart enough not to let you choose 2 spaghettis at the same time. So if you bring your gf with you. Be gentleman and let her choose first.

Or if you are smart enough, be like me. I purchased a voucher and I didn’t bring any dates. So you get to eat BOTH! Okok. I know it sounds a bit sad, I get it! :P

But hey.. who cares it is sad or not, as long as my tummy is super happy. Imagine ur tummy get the best of both worlds. I’m not talking about fat over here but the satisfaction.. :) Well, I am not as selfish as you think. I do share out my beloved fish burgers to other bloggers too ok?

I am not fancy on ice lemon tea whether it tastes better if you buy it yourself or it is free but I am totally into strawberry milkshake. My favorite all time drink that never disappoint me.

If you noticed, I did not comment much about food here. Why? Because my main focus here is spending time with all those chicks and handsome dude out there.. Damn the guy in circle looks super awesome and handsomely attractive. Wonder who is him?

Join us next time and we, bloggers love to meet up with new people. Ops corrections! Some people :P

Kafe Kaki Corner @ Taman Billion, Cheras

FOOT fetish, FOOT reflexology, FOOT ball, FOOT ware are commonly found in everywhere. Wait a min, I am not sure about foot fetish but that sounds so scary if they are near you. LOL.

Recently, a friend of mine brought me to this FOOT place, not for foot reflexology but for FOOD instead. It is called Kafe Kaki Corner. Foot = Kaki in malay. Lol. I bet the owner must be really creative in deciding for this name and the foot logo.

If you are not a fan of hot steamy Malaysia’s weather, you can sit in air conditioned section where you can enjoy BIG TV. If you naturally love the outdoor atmosphere, you can sit by the roadside too.

I must say, besides parking is slightly challenging, this place is perfect for you to bring your date. Don’t ask me who I go with because I am not going to tell you :P *busybody ler you! This is not a super high class restaurant but a decent restaurant for evening dining.

Let’s see, I ordered Ham Cheese Chicken. The food presentation might look simple but the combination of grilled chicken with ham is deliciously yummy. The coleslaw is comparable with KFC coleslaw and the fries are just an ordinary fries.

If you noticed, there spread some chili powder to add some flavor to the ham. Look simple but the taste just blended in nicely. Therefore, I rank this my favorite dish here and I will come back again for this.

Lamb chop is nothing unique. Ohh.. wait a sec. This lamb chop is very unique because it is boneless lamb chop. I never tried this before. I hate boney meat and I hate boney more than meat. So this is just perfect for me.

The black pepper sauce never goes wrong with lamb chop. IF you are smart enough, call the waiter to get you the mint sauce. I can tell you upfront that you are going love it. If happen that you tried roasted lamb, try to dip into mint sauce too. The refreshingly minty taste is going to excite your taste bud even more and make the food automatically taste really better.

Owh, I nearly forget that there is another dish that I like most over here. It is Escargot! This is freshly baked with cheese and spices. I might be slightly biased because personally, I love cheese and I love escargot. I tell you, I even tried to clean the cheese sauce after I finish all the escargot. Hehe

What surprise me is 6 escargots only cost about RM 10.50. Really cheap isn’t it?

Now, let me tell you about the drink first before I introduce the additional dish that I ordered. This is called jumbo size drink and it is really JUMBO. I ordered lime juice with sour plum and apple juice. Trust me, I hardly finish these.

Beside the drink is jumbo, the sausages are also in great size too. It might appears small here but I tell you, I am like wah..so big..when they first served it to me.

Overall, this meal only cost about RM 70 and it is really SatisFATing! Try to bring your date to this café and I am very sure they are going to love it too.

Jogoya Japanese Buffet

Hey, I am hungry! Let’s go and eat? Where?? Anywhere.  What do you plan to eat? Anything. That is a typical conversation that I encounter almost every time when my stomach is paging.. growl growl..

This time I need not worry about it. A few bloggers invited me to Jogoya – Japanese Buffet Restaurant @ Starhill KL. Over here, you can get a broad range of cuisines ranging from Japanese, Chinese, Western, Malaysian and a lot of other styles.

If you are thinking of dieting, forget about it ! The diverse choices of dishes, the freshness of food and the delicate desserts will convince you to eat MORE and MORE.

On top of that, the highest quality and PORK FREE dishes are simply irresistible.

Don’t drool when you see this? I said it because I nearly drool when I spotted on sushi and sashimi. They serve free flow of Salmon, Tuna, Mackeral, Squid, Octopus, Butter Fish, Oyster and Abalone etc.

Sometime the queue can be a little long but I can assure you that it is worth waiting. If you are a fan of sushi, you will find many weird choices of sushi here too. !

Seafood lovers? You don’t need to go to smelly WET market or diving in deep blue sea now. You are free to order crab, prawn, fish, shell fish and many more. All you need to do is just picking a big plate and start selecting.

The seafood are Pre-cook? Nah.. The seafood will only be cooked when you order it. This is to maintain the freshness and quality of the dishes. So, you have a say on how you want it to be done.

Like I said earlier, this restaurant also serves Chinese and Western style dishes. Sharkfin soup is a must but I also spotted dim sum and herbal soup. Not only that, there are too many Chinese vege and meat dishes for me to choose from.

Don’t know which one to choose? Don’t decide too fast ! Western corner serves Spaghetti, steak, lamb chop and many more..  hahaha.. now you are confuse on what to eat right? That is exactly what I have in mind at that time.

I am sure you are interested in what I ordered. This time I will not tell you how I like the food but will let you decide instead. How? Some say picture represents a thousand words.. hehe..

Sashimi is a must ! Sushi is a must too but it ended up in my stomach before I even take out my camera (so no photos) :P . Osyter and scallop are also part of my starter. The crab is a disguise. I didn’t eat it but Xing did.

How to maximize your cash out with food input when you come to buffet? I didn’t eat breakfast, lunch, dinner SINCE yesterday and clean your digestive system.. hahaha.. I am just kidding lol. I’m not that cheapskate,ok?

Let’s see, got lobster, scallops, sea cucumber, crab, abalone, some fish, lamb etc. I bet the question that playing in your head is, do I have diarrhea the next day? The answer is NO.

Personally, I wouldn’t say that all the food is nice but that is normal isn’t it? I like some and don’t like some. I particularly favor the cheesy scallop and the LOBSTER!

Did you see 2 pretty girls there? I mean they look good from that angle. Dark, blocked by hair.. wait wait wait.. Who are they? I don’t know.. hehe .. what I am trying to say is they have to earn their drinks. KNOCK THE COCONUT.

That is really new to me. I literally need to take a hammer and knock a hole before I get to drink it. I drank 5 coconuts in total. Not because I like it but I like the knocking part. Hehe..

Sakura – Since 1977

Sakura or cherry blossom is the flower of cherry trees which are indigenous to East Asia countries including Japan, Korea and China.

Yea, I know you are familiar with Sakura especially in Japan but we also have Sakura in Malaysia. Sakura flower in Malaysia?

Nah.. I meant Sakura Café and Cuisine. A halal café serving local Malaysian food founded in 1977.  Let me be direct to you, parking will be a big challenge at this place – in Jalan Imbi.

Smokers? No worrries. The café is split into smoking and non-smoking zone but of course non smokers get to enjoy the cozy and romantic air-conditioned ambience.

What the specialties here? Honestly, I don’t know.

After spying at what many have eaten, I ordered Braised Shark Fin Soup as appetizer, King Prawn Noodle, Salted Egg Crab(s) and Nasi Bojari as main course and a Coconut drink.

3 main course? Shhhh.. that is the secret of maintaining my big and comfy tummy. (It is believed that many love pillow rather than hard bricks – 6pack)

Personally, my spying works well. All dishes I ordered taste really delicious. Wait a minutes, I tried better Nasi Bojari elsewhere. The chicken slightly over-fried but the prawn and the beef tastes spicily sweet :) .

The salted egg crab and king prawn noodles are nicely done. The salted egg crab taste better with a few dips of chili sauce and the big prawn is really BIG. More importantly, the king prawn noodles is the taste that I’m always craving for.

The shark fin soup, this one taste better than most Chinese restaurant or I should say different style of preparing. A little vinegar makes the taste even better. I will come back again for the sharkfin soup (poor shark :( )

Although pillow is good, there is a price to pay. This time, I spent about RM 119.35 to maintain my tummy from shouting for food. So, be prepared if you dream of a tummy like mine.

Tony Roma’s @ Pavillion KL

Feel bad that you are ‘skinny’ like me? Dieting? Er..Dieting is not in my dictionary YET. If you feel like adding some weight, growing horizontally or adding calories, you are going to love this post.

If you are in diet plan, stop reading or it will ruin your hardwork and fat burning exercise :P

Tony Roma’s is a well known restaurant for delectable Ribs, yummy Seafood and scrumptious Steak. I dropped by this place because I am craving for Ribs & Steak. Don’t ask! Don’t know why and I am not pregnant!

Currently, there are few promotions on going at the same time. One of it is Premium Wahgu Steak and wine promotion. Please take note that on every Monday to Wednesday, Kids eat for free with any adult entrée ordered (dine in only). Yes.. it is FREE!

I think I am still qualified for Kids Eat for Free promotion although I am slightly bigger in size. (not my fault if I reach puberty earlier, right?)

Tony Roma’s has won many culinary awards. Don’t ask me what are those awards because I am only interested in the food not the awards .. hehe..

The ambience is not as quiet as I thought but the setting and décor are really classy. If you decided to have meeting over lunch, casual meet up, I bet you want to drop by here.

Tony Roma’s is also famous with the sauces, Original, Red Hot, Smokies and Carolina Honeys. I tried myself and I prefer Smokies as compared to others. All the sauces taste well with steak, seafood or chicken.

I attempted to dig the actual ingredients in the sauces from the manager but unsuccessful. Silly, right? I am sure they will not disclose the secret ingredients that make them special. Lame but at least I tried !

I bet you are curious on what I have ordered.  I ordered Pina Mango (pineapple and mango drink), Asian Bites (boneless chicken), Rib & Steak and Crisp Spoon (Apple crumble with vanilla ice cream). No need to say much but I am sure you can guess how tasty the dishes are from the pictures below (no photoshop!)

Let me guess? You are curious on how I can finish all those? What I have that you don’t? Er.. Simple!  The capacity and the bottomless stomach. Where I keep all the food? You will know when you see me in person! :P

If you are not in Pavillion, you can still hunt for Tony Roma’s in Sunway Piramid, The Curve and The Gardens. How much I spent? RM 118 in total. Slightly cheaper than my food hunt in Fisherman’s Cove @ Starhill Gallery.

There is only one word to describe this place, SatisFATing!

Fisherman’s Cove @ Starhill Gallery

Money is never enough? I bet everyone agrees with that.. duh.. but what if you have too much money to spend? Aha.. Where will you spend it, how will you spend it and what will you spend it on?

Last time, I used RM 50 to get delicious and filling food in SS2 Foodcourt. This time, I have decided to spend more in Fisherman’s Cove. Am I rich? Am I having too much money to spend? No. Of course not.

Life is short! You need to pamper yourself from time to time right? Fisherman’s Cove located at Feast Floor in Starhill Gallery, KL. The wooden & bamboo décor makes this a perfect place for romantic dinner.

My requirement is simple. I am willing to pay more if the food is really good but I am not willing to spend even a penny if the food is lousy. I know my wallet is going to bleed if I come to this place but hopefully the food is really good.

Let’s see what I have ordered. Chicken & Fish Platter, Medallion Beef and watermelon Mojito as my appetizer, main dish and drinks.

From the glance of it, the food portions are really small. The fact is, the food portion IS REALLY REALLY SMALL. I am concern if my fat can be fed sufficiently.

Let me focus on what I really like here. I like the Chicken & Fish platter. The fish texture is soft and the sauce tastes really good. The fish is so fresh and it doesn’t have the fishy smells that many dislike.

The half cooked Medallion Beef tastes great too. The beef texture is slightly tenderly and boiled button mushrooms taste just blended nicely when eats it together with beef.

Last, the dessert! Choco Pudding. Pertly make and it took about 15 minutes to prepare. I must say that this is the best choco pudding that I have ever tried so far. The choco is not too sweet and the orange ice cream makes me craving for it until now.

I spent about RM 180 in total. Expensive? Well, a little bit but I will come back again for sure. WHY? The money is worth spending because the food tastes awesome.

Shahrul, the assistance manager even dropped by to introduce himself and promoting the RM 3.50 per plate offer from 3 – 6 pm daily in Fisherman Cove. Worth it don’t you think?
