Fortune tellers usually say go for 8 but not 4, go for 18 but not 14. Feng Shui Master normally advice the same thing too. Most Chinese cannot be separated with 8 or 18. Superstitious? No harm in believing it right?
8 = rich and 18 = confirm rich in Cantonese. Is it really a confirm rich? Er.. I don’t have the concrete evidence to support it but Kedai Kopi 18 is the best example to prove it. WHY?
I first visited this place when I was a boy (now a half full fletched man.. hehe). Back then, the shop was fairly new but after many many years, the shop still remains unchanged. Slightly older perhaps.
The shop only closes on every fortnight (Tuesday). In terms of working hours, they already earn slightly more than others. Do a simple math and you will know how much extra that they earn.
On top of that, the customers are continuously visiting the shop non-stop. Most of their customers are from local neighborhood. Some even claimed that they are regular customers here.
Everytime, I encounter a big challenge in finding an empty table. Sometimes Ieven need to use my “charm” to get a seat …hehehe…
What is famous here? I ordered Fishball & prawn kuey teow soup, fishball noodles soup, Spicy noodles and 1/2 steam chicken. I prefer the clear soup rather than then spicy one. I don’t know why but I just love the taste of it.
The kuey teow is very thin and soft. Now, you don’t need to travel all the way to Restoran Onn Kee (Taugeh Ayam) in Ipoh, Perak for delicious and nice chicken hor fun. If you happen to come here, try the steam chicken and you will love it.
It is ok if you don’t read Chinese. Haha.. I didn’t know you are Banana . Hmm.. I don’t read Chinese too but what you need to know is the price for big bowl is RM 4.50 and small bowl is RM 4. Take away will charge an additional RM 0.20.
With the number of repeated customers on daily basis, I will let you decide if 18 is really a confirm rich or just a myth?
