Tony Roma’s @ Pavillion KL

Feel bad that you are ‘skinny’ like me? Dieting? Er..Dieting is not in my dictionary YET. If you feel like adding some weight, growing horizontally or adding calories, you are going to love this post.

If you are in diet plan, stop reading or it will ruin your hardwork and fat burning exercise :P

Tony Roma’s is a well known restaurant for delectable Ribs, yummy Seafood and scrumptious Steak. I dropped by this place because I am craving for Ribs & Steak. Don’t ask! Don’t know why and I am not pregnant!

Currently, there are few promotions on going at the same time. One of it is Premium Wahgu Steak and wine promotion. Please take note that on every Monday to Wednesday, Kids eat for free with any adult entrée ordered (dine in only). Yes.. it is FREE!

I think I am still qualified for Kids Eat for Free promotion although I am slightly bigger in size. (not my fault if I reach puberty earlier, right?)

Tony Roma’s has won many culinary awards. Don’t ask me what are those awards because I am only interested in the food not the awards .. hehe..

The ambience is not as quiet as I thought but the setting and décor are really classy. If you decided to have meeting over lunch, casual meet up, I bet you want to drop by here.

Tony Roma’s is also famous with the sauces, Original, Red Hot, Smokies and Carolina Honeys. I tried myself and I prefer Smokies as compared to others. All the sauces taste well with steak, seafood or chicken.

I attempted to dig the actual ingredients in the sauces from the manager but unsuccessful. Silly, right? I am sure they will not disclose the secret ingredients that make them special. Lame but at least I tried !

I bet you are curious on what I have ordered.  I ordered Pina Mango (pineapple and mango drink), Asian Bites (boneless chicken), Rib & Steak and Crisp Spoon (Apple crumble with vanilla ice cream). No need to say much but I am sure you can guess how tasty the dishes are from the pictures below (no photoshop!)

Let me guess? You are curious on how I can finish all those? What I have that you don’t? Er.. Simple!  The capacity and the bottomless stomach. Where I keep all the food? You will know when you see me in person! :P

If you are not in Pavillion, you can still hunt for Tony Roma’s in Sunway Piramid, The Curve and The Gardens. How much I spent? RM 118 in total. Slightly cheaper than my food hunt in Fisherman’s Cove @ Starhill Gallery.

There is only one word to describe this place, SatisFATing!

Fisherman’s Cove @ Starhill Gallery

Money is never enough? I bet everyone agrees with that.. duh.. but what if you have too much money to spend? Aha.. Where will you spend it, how will you spend it and what will you spend it on?

Last time, I used RM 50 to get delicious and filling food in SS2 Foodcourt. This time, I have decided to spend more in Fisherman’s Cove. Am I rich? Am I having too much money to spend? No. Of course not.

Life is short! You need to pamper yourself from time to time right? Fisherman’s Cove located at Feast Floor in Starhill Gallery, KL. The wooden & bamboo décor makes this a perfect place for romantic dinner.

My requirement is simple. I am willing to pay more if the food is really good but I am not willing to spend even a penny if the food is lousy. I know my wallet is going to bleed if I come to this place but hopefully the food is really good.

Let’s see what I have ordered. Chicken & Fish Platter, Medallion Beef and watermelon Mojito as my appetizer, main dish and drinks.

From the glance of it, the food portions are really small. The fact is, the food portion IS REALLY REALLY SMALL. I am concern if my fat can be fed sufficiently.

Let me focus on what I really like here. I like the Chicken & Fish platter. The fish texture is soft and the sauce tastes really good. The fish is so fresh and it doesn’t have the fishy smells that many dislike.

The half cooked Medallion Beef tastes great too. The beef texture is slightly tenderly and boiled button mushrooms taste just blended nicely when eats it together with beef.

Last, the dessert! Choco Pudding. Pertly make and it took about 15 minutes to prepare. I must say that this is the best choco pudding that I have ever tried so far. The choco is not too sweet and the orange ice cream makes me craving for it until now.

I spent about RM 180 in total. Expensive? Well, a little bit but I will come back again for sure. WHY? The money is worth spending because the food tastes awesome.

Shahrul, the assistance manager even dropped by to introduce himself and promoting the RM 3.50 per plate offer from 3 – 6 pm daily in Fisherman Cove. Worth it don’t you think?

Restoran Onn Kee (Taugeh Ayam)

Are you going to believe me if I tell you that you can experience celebrities’ lifestyle? Have you ever wonder where they go, what they eat, what’s their favorite food? I might have the answer that you are looking for.

All you need to do is pay a visit to Restoran Onn Kee. You might not bump into celebrities there but who knows if you are lucky. Why am I saying that? Am I bluffing? Of course not !

Chin Han Guan Biscuits shop owner recommended me to have lunch at Onn Kee restaurant, the famous Ipoh Hofun (kuey teow) restaurant apart from Lou Wong restaurant.

Famous? How famous? When I walked into the shop, I noticed that there are “walls of fame” capturing all the famous local, regional and international celebrities who visited the shop before.

Yes, this is one of the celebrities’ favorite restaurant and food in Ipoh, Perak.

If you are “anti-crowd” person, don’t come to this place because this restaurant always filled with customers. You literally have to queue up for seat and queue up to place your order.

The last time I went there, took me about an hour to get a seat and until the food is served. All the food is freshly made and pity the workers that has to work non-stop every day.

According to the owner, he claimed that they served more than 100 chickens every day.  The owner must be earning good money, probably better than any professionals out there.

I ordered steamed chicken for two, taugeh (bean sprout), soupy ho fun, dried ho fun and 2 drinks. I particularly like the chicken textures that are very soft and tenderly.  I only spent about RM 20 for a delicious and yummie lunch in Ipoh.

I have to admit that I cursed when waited for 1 hour but the effort was paid off.  The chicken ho fun tastes really good and I will definitely come back again.

Chin Han Guan Biscuits

You don’t need a neon signboard to be famous or attracting customers. Chin Han Guan is one of the example. The famous biscuit shop in Ipoh since 1949 which still use a wooden signboard? Yes, the typical wooden signboard that you usually see in ancient martial art movies (the one that some heroes willing to die to protect the brandname).

If Lam Fong Biscuit is a famous tourists stop for local products, Chin Han Guan is a famous tourists stop for traditional Chinese biscuits. The shop layout reminds me of what a typical Chinese shop with illustrious history looks like.

Have you been to this shop before? If not, you must be a fan of artificial machine-made biscuits. Chin Han Guan is famous with varieties of traditional Chinese hand-made biscuits. Most of the products are freshly made and widely display on glass cabinets. If you are lucky, you might get to see how the biscuits are made just right in front of your eyes.

I have been to this shop twice and it is always crowded with returning customers and tourists. I spoke to the shop owner and he claimed that the customers always fill his shops even during public holidays. FYI, the shop owner still use the ancient calculator with carbon ink paper as a receipt (other than this place, you might get to see this in museum :P )

Chin Han Guan is famous with its Lotus Meatfloss Biscuit with Eggyork (not in picture as they already in my stomach when I write about this :P). It cost about RM21 per pack (10 pieces) with egg york and about RM 19 per pack (16 pieces) without egg york. You need to call to pre-book 2 hours or more before you arrive.  This is one of the hot selling products that everyone is queueing for.

Sugar flower biscuit is one of my favourite biscuits since young. Same goes to ”Beh Teh Soh” and very own Chin Han Guan Mooncake.  If you are craving for original chinese biscuits or you are a biscuits lover like me, pay a visit here and you will not regret.

Lam Fong Biscuit

Do you idolise anyone? If not, you can idolise ME. hahaha. How much are you willing to pay to see your favorite idol? If your idol is me, then the answer is FREE. Or perhaps you can buy me a drink or meal :P .

If you are following Hong Kong celebrities’ news, I am sure you will come across Lam Fong. Well, I came across Lam Fong too but not in person. It is Lam Fong Biscuit at Jalan Pasir Putih, Ipoh, Perak. This BIG Lam Fong’s banner caught my attention during my recent joyride. Apparently, this is one of the famous tourists’ stop in Ipoh.

There is nothing fancy about this shop from the exterior except the eye catching banner. Neither fashionable nor follow the latest trend as ‘real’ Lam Fong. However, this shop sells most of the famous local products such as sweet and juicy pamelo, delicious and crispy biscuits, Nutmeg, Chinese traditional delicacy and wide range of products just perfect for souvenirs.

Personally, I would prefer to idolise this shop other than myself simply because it can fill up my stomach (my tummy still need to be fed, right? ). You do not need to pay such a high price for your idol concert tickets, but in this shop, most of the products are reasonably cheap.

If you happen to be around that area, perhaps you can pay a visit to my IDOL’s place, Lam Fong Biscuit and get me some famous local products too. I accept everything that is edible :P

Hawker Stalls @ Gurney Drive

If you think that my tummy is filled after having food at Penang Char Kuey Teow @ Lorong Selamat and  Hawker Stalls @ Macalister Road, I can tell you straight to your face that you are wrong ! Do you know how much I spend to maintain my tummy every month? I can tell you it is a lot, a lot more than you can think off.

My stomach is bottomless ! So, if you decided to buy me a dinner, you better think twice or I will dry your wallet off. As usual, my diet plan fails again. hehe. How can I miss all the hawker stalls at Gurney Drive? No need to ask, the place is usually crowded till late at night.

If you are craving for assam laksa, loh bak, O – chien (fried osyter with eggs), lok lok (steamboat stick) etc, this is the place. As for me, that is not what I am looking for. Some “special” food of course.

Muo Chi or Ma Zhi (steam sticky flour with peanuts) is what I am looking for. Still remember about QQ Muo Chi @ Jalan Tanjung Dua? That muo chi is already upgraded with various flavors but this one is the original muo chi. There are few stalls that sell muo chi but this stall is my favorite among all.

The next stop is charcoal grilled cuttlefish. I know many dislike this but I love it. I only pay about RM 10 and the crispy cuttle fish is mine. It is best served with spicy dip sauce when it is still hot. This is probably one of the famous stalls in Gurney Drive as a lot of ‘big shots’ drop by to get the cuttlefish. (Yess.. I have the same taste as the big shots.. :P )

You must be wondering where are all the food photos and why I did not post it up.It is because both tastes so good that I finished them when on my way back to my table :P .. If you want, you can try them yourself. hehe..

Hawker Stalls @ Macalister Road

What did you do when you have some free time? Playing chess, reading or gardening? Gosh, so boring. Get a life ! I know you will curse me if your hobby happen to be one of those. As for me, I will do something to keep up with my tummy. (The other day, one auntie just said.. OMG.. you so fat now .. arrggghhh)

I can spend 5 hours drive to Penang (I am a turtle driver) just because I am craving for Penang food.  The place that I like most in Penang is Macalister Road. Probably about 15 min drive from Penang Bridge assuming that there are no traffic jams.

Macalister Road is not a super high class place but it fills with a lot of hawker stalls. Over here, you can find variety of very nice and famous food.

Everytime when I come to this place, there are few “must eat” food. Chee cheong fun, loh bak and ais kacang. Please don’t worry that they will slaughter you if you are not local because most of them are very reasonable. Some stalls even put up the pricing but of course if you speak Hokkien to them, you will get “better treatments”.

Let me tell you that this is not just an ordinary ais kacang. Have you try ais kacang with sarsaparilla (Sarsi) syrup  and cincau (grass jelly)? That’s why I said it is a “must eat” dessert. I am sure most of you are familliar with loh bak so I skip this and move to chee cheong fun. Have you try chee cheong fun with prawn paste? Taste weird? Nah.. it tastes yummie..

The journey to Penang is a bit torturing considering that I am a turtle driver but I only spent about RM 20 to feed my fat. Let me see if I can google the locations just incase you are as adventurous as me.
