Sugar Cane

Driving around with empty stomach is like breathing in water. Wah.. both are not related wor.  What I am trying to say is both are really torturing.  When the stomach is calling, I am as ravenous as wolves.

On one fine day when I was driving around Pudu, Kuala Lumpur, my buddy routed me to this restaurant, May King. I wonder what exactly they are serving as the name is very appealing.

How’s parking? Parking is a big problem here but if you manage to get one, you will definitely not regret. This restaurant is always crowded with returning customers so the food must have certain standard.

When entering the restaurant, I am impressed with the cleanliness and the way how the food is prepared. The transparent kitchen is almost the same as Dragon-i @ Pavillion, KL. Even the drinks are prepared in a traditional and visible way.

Before you start asking me, I went with another friend of mine but both of us are considered “small” eater. We ordered Lum Mee King, Yummy Hor Fun, Signature Curry Mee, Homemade QQ Fish Balls and Deep Fried Tofu Roll.

The Lum Mee King, a must try noodles with starchy gravy tastes really really really good. The Yummy Hor Fun is using the same starchy gravy as Lum Mee King but the big fat noodle is replaced with Hor Fun.

If you are craving for coconut milk + curry + yellow noodles + prawns, the Signature Curry Mee is what you should order. I like the creamy tastes of the curry.

The tender fishball/meatballs and Deep Fried Tofu Roll are perfect side orders. Don’t worry, all these will not add too much of the FAT.. hehe.

We also ordered herbal tea and sugar cane drinks. Both of these drinks are not from can but are homemade. This time is not considered as big meal for us but just nice. All dishes were finished completely.

If you look at the menu, this restaurant only serves few dishes and snacks. Why do you need a long list if all are good and delicious, right? Look at price! The food here is not expensive too.

We only pay about RM 24 in total and I can tell you, this lunch is definitely worth the money. The service here is very efficient and friendly. What more I can say, the next time I visit this place, the owner even offer to buy me a lunch. Hehe..
