Cinema

Blogging about movies is always fun. As a movie lover, I enjoy pretty much spending most of my time watching movies. It can be at cinema, at home, friend’s house, mom’s house .. bla bla bla..

Recently, most of the movies show a level of qualities in terms of picture effects, sound systems and even 3D effects. Cool and impressive. Once in a while, some funny movies (humor movies) are worth watching. Good or bad? It is up to u? Good storylines? Nah.. I don’t think so, but considering they give you some laughter, funny moments, I will not complain much.

Recently, Jason Friedberg just directed Vampires Suck. Judging from his background and the movie title, it is another movie like Epic Movies, Disaster Movies and Meet the Spartan. If you miss all the three movies I mentioned earlier, I managed to dig some of the old posters from my archive folders.

All these movies have something in common, they are funny, dumb and more importantly, you need to watch hell lots of movies related to the movies scenes. If you prefer good storylines, good movies effects, serious and romantic movies, I suggest that you don’t waste your time here. All these movies have nothing close to all that.

Vampires Suck ?? First thing that come to my mind when I read this title is, vampires suck, I mean suck blood suck or the movie sucks. I guess this movie is a bit of both. The storyline is almost the same like the Twilight but I am seriously impress in the way how they connect/relate those interesting scene.

This movie really make me burst out of laughter many times. Quality of the jokes? I would say some are really good and nicely fit in but some are really silly. Put Tobasco sauce before biting human being? kinda creative in most of the jokes. Sometimes I wonder if the director continue to laugh and laugh when he directed the movie or he is already numb ?

Here is the nice scene that I like about this movies? Just a chihuahua? Well, you will find out more on why I like this scene so much when you watch the movie yourself. Bear in mind that although it is a very small dog, chihuahua actually thinks that they are very big. I have a chihuahua before and I know it well. (it can even barks at big dog, 5x bigger than their own size).

Here I include the trailer for your watching pleasure.

Heard about Toy Story 1 & 2? NO? Which century you are from? Actually, I am refering to myself .. hehe .. I started to watch Toy Story 1 & 2 after I got to know that Toy Story 3 is showing soon.

From the same creator of Finding Nemo (2003) and UP (2009), Toy Story 3 is now showing in cinema with 3D effects. If you don’t know anything about Finding Nemo and UP, I really wonder where have you been?

Being a movies lover, I will share with you some nice posters and the best parts of both movies. Just in case you forgot. Despite Finding Nemo won the Acedemy Award for Best Animated Feature, there is no Finding Nemo 2 yet (even after 7 years). I am sure you are wondering why?

The best part of Finding Nemo is at the last part of the movie. I missed that part twice and only realised it after watching Finding Nemo for the third time. And now, you know why there is no Finding Nemo 2 yet (because most of the characters are still trapped in plastic bag).. hehe.

UP is another good animation cartoon. Technically, I like most of the Disney Pixar cartoon. It is full with meaning and humorous too. I particularly like the part when Russel (cute little boy) trapped/stucked outside the flying house.

You must be wondering, why I show the Finding Nemo and Up although the post title is “Toy Story 3″. Well, just to give you some track records on Disney Pixar Cartoon .. hehe.. I am sure you can see a trend that Toy Story 1, 2 and 3 are actually good cartoons. I uploaded the cartoon poster and of course, the best part that I like about the movie. The moment when Buzz Lightyear being reset to DEMO mode .. hahaa .. the Buzz acting funny like what happen in Toy Story 1, when he just get out from his spacecraft (toy box).

Besides that, the movies thought me a lot of things. The deepest lesson that I learnt from the movie is “Happiness is not about being happy ourselves but happiness is about seeing your loved one happy”. That is why, I like Woody more as compare to Buzz Lightyear. I wish everyone will be like Woody, I mean the helpful and loyal part .. and not the part when he run away..

I believe trailer explains all that I mentioned above. Enjoy !

Write a post about a movie even without watching it FIRST? That is challenging but at the same time, I would say that will be a little bias. Why? All our information is based on synopsis and trailer perhaps .. but remember when I said, I don’t read synopsis, reviews or watch trailers before I watch the movie? A poster already enough to tell a thousand excitements :)

Well, Resident Evil : After Life has no exception too. Paul W.S. Anderson the writer/director/producer has spent ample of time cracking his head to thrill and impress his audiences. Why we want to waste his efforts? Looking at his track records by producing my favorites Death Race (2008) and DOA: Dead or Alive (2006) are already sufficient to prove his credibility.

If that is still not enough, perhaps you should check out Resident EvilResident Evil: ApocalypseResident Evil: Extinction. Ohh.. don’t tell me that you haven’t watch them yet? You still have a few more weeks to catch up before the launching of Resident Evil : After Life on Sep 10.

To give a little bit more about the background, Resident Evil is based on a famous video game series. Alice (Milla Jovovich), the main actress is the only one successfully bond with T-Virus that increases her physical and mental capabilities. The others that are infected will turn into Undead (Zombie).

The Umbrella Corp, the only remaining organization on planet is intended to clone Alice’s DNA and the stories begins … (Of course I will not tell you all, you have to figure it out yourself … hehe)

Besides the special effects and the Undead, I am particularly like the ”Laser Hallway” in previous Resident Evil . Cool isn’t it? Looks harmless but it is a deadly weapon.

By knowing the background of writer/director/producer, actress and other series (although it is a bit lengthy … :) ) are parts of my plan, if I am Alice or Claire, to strategize perfect strategies to fight the Umbrella Corporation. Here are the strategies.

Strategy 1

Wear raincoat and stop using Umbrella – with that, Umbrella Corporation will be financially challenge. Slowly, the corporation will go bankrupt.

Strategy 2

Don’t watch Resident Evil at all. In this case, the producer will be losing his revenue and no more Resident Evil movies after this. Indirectly, Umbrella Corporation will be shutting off …

Strategy 3 (my Favorite !)

If I am Alice or Claire, I will just follow what the “Director Said”. e.g. If the Director Said use cotton candy to bring down the Umbrella Corporation, it will works. If the Director Said, sit there is the best way to fight Umbrella Corporation, then it is the best way !

-

Honestly speaking, I have been watching a lot of Zombie movies. All the Zombie movies have one thing in common. THERE ARE NO ENDING. The zombie will still be walking on the street afterall. Probably, that is the ending .. hehe

By saying that, I also learn few tips along the way. For Guys, please be gentleman by asking if your girls friends really want to watch or else: 20% of the time will be screaming, 30% of the time will close their eyes and 50% of the time will be keep asking you, “WHAT JUST HAPPEN?”

More importantly,  there will be a lot of action packed in latest 3D technology (James Cameroon’s AVATAR camera system technology) in this movie. Here is the trailers … Enjoy !

One day my friends invited me to watch salt. Not knowing “Salt” is actually a movie, I asked him, “why we want to watch salt? why not we just eat it ?” OMG. That is the silliest moment.

Knowing that I don’t read synopsis or movie title, I actually thought that salt is salt..yes..table salt. This is what comes to my mind at that time. Silly me.

We had a great laugh and ended up spending RM 12 per person and kill 105 min in my life. Ops. I shouldn’t say kill my life when Angelina Jolie is acting. Don’t get me wrong, this is actually a good movie.

Like I said before, I watch the movies if they have nice posters. Look at the posters below. Hmm.. They look mysterious to me and full with curiosity. I like it ! The movie was directed by Phillip Noyce – the same director in The Bone Collector (1999).

A guy that knows nothing about the movie, nothing about the storyline, I would say the movie is full with surprises. Not to mention a lot of action and cool scenes. I am too into the movie until I finished my pop corn without realising it.

Angelina Jolie again impressed me with her character in this movie. Starting from blonde CIA, turns into fugitive, elude capture with all her skills and years of experience as a covert operative.

In all movies I watched, there is a spesific scene that I like the most. Like in The Sorcerer’s Apprentice for instance, I like the “Hungarian Mirror Tricks”. In this movie, I like the “Home made Bazooka !” AWESOME..

Many times, the movie trailer shows all the nice scenes. I watched this trailer only after I watched the real movie in cinema and I think it is worth sharing with all. Again, without reading synopsis and reviews, I make the fullest of my 105 min and RM 12.

A few months ago, Sony Style @ KLCC was closed for renovation. Recently, Sony Style back on business with a new look. Not only that, there are many new gadgets too. It is my heaven beside Low Yat Plaza. I like technology and GadgetSS are the closest link to it.

After a long, busy week, going to GadgetSS stores relief all my tense, tiredness and will definately make me feel overwhelm with all the new inventions.

Lately, I noticed a lot of transition in TV technology. Starting with Plasma and LCD TV, HD and Full HD TV, LED TV, thinnest TV and now with the latest invention of 3D in Full HD (1080p) TV. COOL. I tried it myself and I am amaze with the picture qualities and the 3D effects.

This tv is not available in Malaysia yet. However, I manage to find some infomation on Full HD 3D TV. I tried 3D movies in cinema, but the feeling of having 3D TV at home is unbelievably great ! This will definately be in my wishlist.

Next cool gadget is compact SLR by Sony. I believe you can find more information about this camera in www.dpreview.com (famous photography review).

I tried this camera myself. It is impressive considering that I am used to Canon EOS 7D. The size is rather compact, fit nicely on ladies hand. Pictures quality are comparable with SLR. Quite handy to be honest.

The Sony’s website below shows the camera preview, accessories and interchangable lenses. It is true what the website said “The World’s Smallest Interchangeable-Lens Digital Camera with Professional Quality in Your Pocket”.

All I can say, this new look @ Sony Style KLCC brings a lot of cool gadgets, cool technology and cool environment.

I am a big fan of movies. What movies? All sorts of movies, English, Chinese, Action, Adventure, Humor, Horror, Romantic, Fantasy and of course many more. I am slightly different from others in the sense that I can watch the same movies over and over again. My record on watching Steven Chow’s movies is 38-1/2 times (the last one, I dozes off after 50 min :P ) and still counting. Wasting time? I don’t think so. No life? Hell no.

How many read synopsis, review or movies summary first before going to cinema? To me, nice posters will help me to decide what movie I want to watch. Weird huh? Simple concept is this, I prefer surprises rather than knowing the storyline before I even watch it. Besides, everyone has different taste and expectation. Movies reviewers might have different opinion than us.

Recently, I just watched The Sorcerer’s Apprentice by Walt Disney Pictures in Tanjung Golden Village (TGV) KLCC. The Director is Jon Turtletaub (Director of National Treasure). A cool adventure and nice action movie for 1 hr 54 min. A few actors and actress that might ring your bell, Nicolas Cage, Jay Baruchel, Monica Bellucci, Alfred Molina .

I will not give synopsis or movie summary or even screenshot here. I bet you can just simply google it but try not to read it for the first time and watch this movie. The feelings of not knowing what is it about and what is the storyline is priceless. Try it. Like I said, everyone has different opinion and I am not a movie reviewers by the way. Personally, I like this movie very much. A lot of actions, high tech visuals, cool acts especially the ‘Hungarian Mirror Trick’ and much more.

Only RM 12 per ticket or RM 6 per ticket on Wednesday can spice up your life for two hours. If the movie is not your type, compliment yourself with a nice and sweet icecream. It helps ! And rule of thumb is, never watch it alone. Sad isn’t it if you are alone in cinema. Nice, terrible, good, bad movies, who do you want to share with if you are alone? Well, call me if you cannot find anyone to watch it with you.

A lot of nice movies coming up e.g Cats and Dogs, The Expendables, Resident Evil: Afterlife, The Other Guys and many more. I am sure they will keep you occupied. Lastly, try not to read synopsis or reviews and watch them straight away…
