Hawker stalls are always famous with good, cheap and variety of food. Some are not very hygienic too but lets not go into details here. Hawker stalls mostly famous in housing estate and they are very hard to detect unless you stay there for quite sometime. They have no shop name, no maps/promotions and some might not even registered :P

Most of the hawker stalls serve noodles such as wantan mee, curry mee, prawn mee, pan mee or rice, economy rice, chicken rice and there are many other choices. Speaking about Pan Mee, I would recommended this Pan Mee & Sui Kow in Balakong. Don’t ask me what is the shop name because there isn’t one and don’t ask me what is the address because I don’t know either but I managed to get the GPS location.

This shops shows the other side of the hawker stall. This place is clean, don’t have variety of food but it is cheap. They serve The famous Pan Mee and Sui Kow in Balakong. If you happen to be around that areas, try to stop and ask .. seem like everyone knows them.

The pan mee serves with a lot of dried onion and anchovies. The pan mee only serve in soup style (some place do serve the dried pan mee) but the sui kow can be either in soup, fried or add on. I can tell you that this place serve the best sui kow. The skin is thin and the textures are soft and tendery. The sui kow’s secret ingredients are DEFINATELY not halal and it is SECRET :P

Beside pan mee, what I like about this place is they serve Lychee Pudding. It is home made and only cost about RM 1 each. Not too hard and not too soft, not to sweet and not too cold too. I love this.

This place is my regular place for breakfast. We always ordered more but end up finish all too. Sometime we have some add on sui kow soup and sometime we go for fried sui kow. More importantly, the soup are not full with MSG. The pictures below show before and after of the pan mee. More like ” now you SEE, now you DON’T”. hehe..

Two bowl with add on sui kow and a lychee pudding only about RM 10.80. Another perfect place for breakfast. This place open everyday from 8 am – 4 pm and close on every tuesday. Please see the GPS location for more accurate location. If you are lost, ask the locals !

I am very sure that you remember when I post about  Uncle Jerry Chic Kut Teh last week. Just a little recap, I suppose to eat healthy vegetarian food but end up in FULL MEAT DISHES. A big swap instead. hehe.

This time, I discipline myself again to go to vegetarian shop and no more detour. As you know, I am not a vege lover and green to me is dull. Many said vegetarian food is good for health so I decided to hop into Ba Xian Vegeterian Court. It is situated a few shops away from Uncle Jerry Chic Kut Teh.

I wouldn’t consider this as a high class restaurant but this restaurant is full with locals around the neighbourhood. I am not sure if this restaurant is Halal but vegetarian should be halal, right? The restaurant always full with vegetarian especially during 1 st and 15 th of chinese calender. During the normal days, I can tell you, this place is packed also.

Coincidently when I went, the restaurant is attending a big crowd of family events. Since no more detour this time, I decided to walk in and wait. Although this restaurant is packed with people, the speed of the services are very efficient. The waitress immediately attending to me and start to place the order.

It takes about 15 min for the food to be served. Looking at the crowd, I must say the chef must be very efficient. I ordered 3 dishes only for testing. First one is 3 type stew mushrooms with vegetables, assam fish and mutton curry. Fish and mutton definately not vegetarian in my dictionary but lets try first.

Let me share with u one by one. The assam fish sauce is a bit spicy. It didn’t taste like fish but the seaweed make the vegetarian fish taste a little fishy. The mutton, didn’t taste like mutton but the texture is very closely like the real mutton. Impressive. The curry sause with potatoes make this my favourite dish. The 3 mushroom, er.. taste like mushroom.. hehe.

I am not sure if you know about this, Chinese culture usually did not finish all the food and left some behind for “tomorrow”. It is believed that by doing this will ensure that we will not starve the next day. I don’t believe in that. Finish all the food to me means i) did not waste the food ii) Appreciate the chef efforts by actions iii) HELP the waitress to clean later :P

These dishes with rice and drinks only cost me about RM 29. I say it is reasonable. This restaurant change my perception on vegetarian food. Vegetarian is not only greens but many varieties. I will come back again to this restaurant.

This restaurant operate daily from 11am – 3pm and 530pm – 11pm. This restaurant operate 7 days a week, 365 days a year (open DAILY !)

Mom scolded her disobedient son for failing the exam due to lack of understanding in Mandarin.

She said, “Son, you are listening to a lot of chinese music recently. You should have a good understanding in Mandarin !”

The son replied, “We hear the neighbour’s dog barking almost everyday. Does that means that we understand what the dog says?”

Few weeks ago, my friend just got her new 2.0 litres Kia Forte. I was invited for a test drive and joyride around KL in this car. Silver color was not her first choice but white color has to wait for additional 3 months. She got her silver Forte after 3 months of waiting period.

Feeling excited, I finally managed to get so close to Forte. This is a 2.0 liter Forte. The exterior is exquisite with light side mirror. This car is so new that my friend have not remove the side door sponge padding yet.

The backview of the car is almost the same like Honda Civic or BMW 3 series. Am I over exaggerating? I guess not. If you noticed, I removed the number plates. Not because it is confidential, but I tried to avoid my readers from buying 4D … :P  . I noted that the storage compartment are very spacious. It can fit a big icebox and golf bag too.

The interior is spacious too. More spacious than Honda Civic. The dashboard is nice but I still prefer the futuristic dashboard in Honda Civic. The 2.0 SX Forte comes with 6 airbags, leather seats, keyless entry, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), 6 Discs Audio Systems and many more. What I like most is the keyless entry and the push start engine button which supercede Honda Civic 2.0.

The price is affordable for the simillar range. The 2.0L DOHC CVVT SX (A/T) Forte costs about RM 93,800.00 in Peninsular Malaysia. The driving experience is stable, comfy and it is a fuel efficient car. If you are interested, maybe you should consider on the lead time (the waiting period) because it might easily takes more than 3 months.

It is not easy to describe a nice affordable sedan car in just one post.  Besides, I can provide much more information by just directing you to the right link rather than repeating the information that is easily accessible on the net.

For more information, please visit http://www.nazakia.com.my/sedans/forte/features-options . Also, I include the Forte commercial video for your viewing pleasure.

If you read my movie review on The Last Airbender, I mentioned it is only Saturday and still have one more day before I call a week. I managed to watch this movie on Sunday itself and that complete my week with 3 cinema movies (Vampires SuckThe Last Airbender, The Expendables), 6 DVDs (The A-Team, Repo Man, Death at a Funeral, Nanny McPhee & The Big Bang, Flirting Scholar 2 and The Legend is Born – Ip Man) and 1 chinese series (Pu Song Ling – love story of man and wolf girl).

Familliar with Sylvester Stallone? If you are not familliar with him, probably you heard about RAMBO and ROCKY? If you still don’t know who he is, let me try to recall your memories. Ohh.. he also appeared in Demolition Man (1993), Judge Dredd (1995),Spy Kids 3D: Game Over (2003) and the most recent one is RAMBO (2008). I am speechless if you still don’t know who he is.

If I keep blogging about movies .. I guess my readers will be so tired of it. So many nice movies nowadays. Many times when I watch movies, I always wanted to see all the famous actor/actress in the same movies. NOW, I found one … That is why I chose to blog this movie although I watched others too. It is called The Expandables.

Stallone is the director for this latest movie The Expendables. All the famous actors like Sylvester Stallone (RAMBO), Jason Statham (Transporter), Jet Li (Kiss of the Dragon), Dolph Lundgren (Universal Soldier), Randy Couture (famous wrestler), Steve Austin (The Longest Yard), Terry Crews (White Chicks), Mickey Rourke (Ironman 2) and Bruce Willis (Die Hard) were acting in this movie. Arnold Schwarzenegger (Terminator & Governor of California) did dropped by too !

Source: IMDB

Having all these hardcore action actors, what you can expect are a lot of blood, violent, big gun fights, fighting but one thing that I never expect is Humor. Have you see Jet Li jokes? He is making this movie more lively in the softer way. Everyone burst out of laughter with his ”Chinese” jokes.

I didn’t expect a good storyline and I was spot on. The storyline is so so only but a lot of hardcore actions (I meant war, gun fights :P ) and many times you get to see blood splashing everywhere (they must spend a lot of money on blood) and of coz martial arts. Below are the cool scene that I like most about the movie.

This movie is the type of movie that must watch in cinema because of the sound effects (Sound of GUN). I managed to dig the trailer to share with you. Enjoy !

Talking about pet, I used to have a dog called Ben, Tzi Tzu breed. The reason I said I used to because Ben was stolen 3 weeks ago.  Let me share with you on what happen so that we can grieve and laugh together. Laugh? Am I out of my mind? or I am just cold blooded?

My maid left the gate open and Ben decided to take a walk out. Without noticing it, the maid then close the gate. So poor Ben was left outside and nobody noticed him. Not because we are not caring but Ben always like to walk around alone without barking.

The next morning I heard my mom screaming at 5 am when the dog is not in the cage. My maid decided to confess with my mom and said, “Nenek, the dog went missing yesterday, why not we go and find now ?”. Hearing this, my mom get so pissed off and started to say, “Why didn’t you tell me yesterday and only tell me now?” The maid replied, ” Nenek, I forget la.” My mom nearly fainted because of that.

Without further a due, the Ben Search Part 1 begins. My mom started to walk around the neighbourhood starting from 5.15 am till 8 am. No success. My mom asked every friends of hers. Still no success. Some claimed that they saw Ben wandering around with other female dog, jumping over the fence, bite shoes but wait a minute, Ben is a small size dog, how can he jump over the fence? Something is not right somewhere.

After work, I began Ben Search Part 2. This time I am smart, I drive around neighbourhood instead of walking. So I drove about 1 hr and still no success. Ben usually knows how to go home by himself and stay outside the gate waiting for us to open the door but not this time. Maid offered helps and said, “why not you drop me here and I will find the dog at this area. I will walk back home later.” Few hours passed, my maid not home yet? So now, instead of missing dog, my maid is missing too.

Now, Dog + Maid Search Part 3. No success of dog but noticed my maid was sitting at playground talking to some strangers and I walked closer to intervene. I asked, “Why you didn’t go home?”. She answered,”I am lost, I don’t know where to find my way back.” I am speechless.

My sister decided to go for Ben Search Part 4 alone this time to avoid losing my maid again. Again, she drove around the neighbourhood and still no sign of Ben. This is almost a day now. By right, Ben should be starving and knows how to find his way back. No success. My sis gave up and drove home.

So all of us are very sad for the loss of Ben and there is no way we can trace the location of Ben. Feeling upset, mom decided to donate the cage, dogfood, shampoo and other Ben’s belonging to other dog’s lover. Besides that, mom informed all the neighbours to return our dog if they can find him but no news after that.

Few weeks passed, suddenly a middle age auntie visited my mom (my mom’s friend) and asked, “What is your dog name?” My mom curiously replied, “It is called Ben. Why did you ask?” The auntie said,”Ohh, last few weeks I have your dog. Your dog is very good. Eating all the leftover food from us but when my daughter decided to bath the dog, the dog ran away with a chain on his neck. When you find Ben, can you return the chain to me?” My mom asked calmly, “You know I lost my dog and I am searching for Ben almost every morning. Why you didn’t you tell me?” She replied,”That is a good breed, Tzi Tzu, a very expensive dog if you buy it. That is why I decided to keep it but now, if you see the chain, can you give it back to me?” My mom was speechless and sent her back.

Sometime, I just don’t understand about human being. It is simple but yet complicated. Why can a person take your dog, come back to you and claim she took it? Weird huh? It is like telling people, I kill you and it is me who kill you but can you give me back my bullet if you find it? Ben Search fails but I learn a great lesson about how human can be so weird sometime.

We heard a lot about Shoppaholic previously. Confessions of a Shopaholic is one of the nice movie. I have a confession to make too. I guess I have problems with holic. I am a movieholic and I like to drink Horlicks :P

This week only, I watched 2 movies in cinema, few movies on dvd, 2 chinese series and wow.. today is only Saturday and still got 1 more days to go before the new week. Previously I posted about Vampire Sucks. Now is The Last Airbender. Check out the coolest posters I managed to find.

 Source: IMDB

If you don’t know about this movies, M. Night Shyamalan wrote, directed and produced a lot of quality movies. I am sure you heard about Six Sense and The Stuart Little? The recent movies before these movies are :

The Last Airbender is based on a animated cartoon Avatar: The Last Airbender. Aang (Noah Ringer), the Avatar airbender is trying to stop the Fire Nation from enslaving the Water, Earth and Air Nations. Ops .. I shouldn’t tell all the nice storylines and let you explore yourself.

In my opinion, this is the best movie that Shyamalan ever produced beside Six Sense. This movie gives a lot of cool effects and the translation from animated cartoon to real movie is just so wonderful. I like this scene very much but I never thought how they do it? Put some glow in dark ink ??? :P

Not just that, I particularly like “the multipurpose vehicle”, flying bison, Appa. It can fly, it can walk, it can swim in ice cold water and it is just so cool. Also, the flying momo too. I don’t know what that is but I think it is a kind of extinct giant fruit bat ??

This movie is worth watching and I suggest that you watch in cinema if you are keen in cool 3D effects and surround systems. I purposely did not mentioned all the nice and exciting scenes simply because I want you to experience first hand.

Here is the trailer.

Facebook is a famous social network that links your old friends, schoolmates, colleagues, family members and many more . In Facebook, you can play games, update your post, comments and of course I cannot finish typing all the Facebook functions here.

The famous button that I usually use to express that I like the post, comments or status is the Facebook “Like” button. A simple click signifies an agreement of one opinion. This button can be installed as a plugin in most websites or blog. I am pretty sure that most of you do know what am I talking about.

Recently, I noted the MISUSED of Facebook “Like” Button. I am not sure how many of you do aware of this but sometimes agreements are not always the best thing to do. They might lead to signicant social impact or wrong messages being sent to the community.

When I read The Star Online news today, I noted the Facebook “Like” button is in every news. This is a good approach to capture the readers view. The intention of this post is not to condemn  The Star websites but it is more to create an awareness on something that might means very small to some people but it carries a heavy meaning.

The news below are extracted from The Star website. This news is supposed to be a sad news considering 2 teenagers being rape by strangers that they thought are their friends. It also potray how we should not trust the strangers easily and our society isn’t that safe anymore because rapist can be everywhere.

Now let us check the like button at the bottom. 232 people like this news ??? This is the part where I said the Like button expressed some doggy messages. 232 people are either like the news because of i) the 2 teen being rape ? ii) the rapist for raping the 2 teenagers? iii) the girls managed to identify the rapist ?

I am not sure about others but my first glance is, What happen to our society nowadays? Encouraging rapist? or liking the girls to be raped?

Source: The Star

Another news post as below. This is another sad story considering that someone ends up in homocide. Look at the bottom. 132 people like this post? That is very scary. Do they really like the girl being murdered? or they are supporting the murderer? I know that most of the news are reported with a good intention to teach/share/make aware of the actual situation. Liking in this news is definately not the right way for us to express our agreement.

“Like” only consists of one word but it carries a very subjective meaning. Most of the people did not go through the news in detail. They will only pick up some of the key words especially at the beginning and the ending. In this case, the beginning is “A massage that ends in woman’s homocide” and the ending is 132 people like this news? Now, can you see the bigger picture?

 Source: The Star

This is the last news I extracted from the website. I finished reading this news in detail. I found it very unfortunate that a woman having hard time battling with her illness end up dead because of a snatch thief and NOT because of cancer. That is the consequence of the social illness that will bring futher damage to our society.

284 people like this ??? Is that a true “like” or the readers simply click the button? I don’t know but if the problem is just the reader simply clicking the button, I guess we don’t really have a real problem. What if the one that click the button really like the poor woman dying or the snatch thief who kills the woman? Then we have a serious problem. The biggest impact is the message that is sent out to the society. Try to think about it, what happen if this is the root cause for the next crime?

Source: The Star

Again, like I mentioned earlier, this post is not to condemn any party for their acts but to create awareness to our society so that we think before we “like” something. It might be very small act but with so many readers, the impact can be very big. I hope that we will not misuse the technology simply because it is simple or easy.

My nephew is a crazy fan of Pokemon. He always pika here and pika there. What can I do with this 4 years old? A bit annoying when I tried to catch some nap and when I work on something serious. Sometimes, his actions are just so cute and that is also how I learned about almost all the cartoon characters, not just limited to Pokemon only.

Knowing that I am abit paranoid with Pokemon, my friend claims that there is a restaurant called Pokemon Noodles House. Thought he is pulling my leg, so I put a bet of RM 10 and I lost it.. sigh..

The Pokemon Noodles House actually exist in Taman Seri Sinar, Kepong, about 7 min drive from Mont Kiara. The noodles house is very famous in this area and the place is usually crowded over the weekend. Many decided to have breakfast with family here.

This noodles house specialties are Pan Mee. They serve varities of Pan Mee including plain soup pan mee, loh pan me, assam pan mee, spicy pan mee, dry pan mee and tom yam pan mee.   Over here you have a choice of hand made or machine made pan mee. The price is ranging from RM 4-4.50 for small bowl and RM 4.50-5 for big bowl. Even a small bowl is big for me !

I ordered loh pan mee, tom yam pan mee and plain pan mee to give a try. The plain pan mee tastes better than most places, the loh pan mee and tom yam pan mee are very new to me. I tried tom yam before, I tried pan mee before but combination taste of those 2 in one bowl are just so amazing. Apparently, this place serves fish cake too which cost about RM 4 per piece.

Don’t get shock when I finished all three bowl. It is not that I finished all three by myself. I have two helpers with me :P

This place closes every fortnight on Thursday and starts operating from 8am – 4 pm daily. If this place is nearby at your place, feel free to drop by.
