When I first heard about Om Nom Nom, I am like what the hell is that? After a few moments of silence, Vince texted us (TikkoSS, Xing and Simon) to online immediately and finally, we formed Team RANDOM. Be in an amazing race alike race for a “young” man like me sounds challenging and FUN. Am I implying that I am too old for this race? Nah .. don’t be stereotype, k? I can tell you, I am not the “youngest” over there lol.
Before we start, we have to sign a “will” just in case anything happen to us. Hahaha.. not “will”, I’m just pulling your leg. It is a consent form.
What is so great about this race? Ohh..Beside NikiCheong was the MC, all I can think of is FOOD. They fed us really well even before we start our race. This is the time when I suppose to mingle around with other bloggers. So, I go with my camera as an excuse and started to say, “Can I have a picture of your team?” Lame but works.
After short briefing, teams were given iPhone, maxis broadband, laptop and first clue. This is getting exciting! AS much as we want to be the first in the race, Team Random decided to let other teams to start first. Give them a chance.. hehehe.. (Actually we faced some challenge in keying in our GPS .. lol)
Yea yea yea.. I bet you already know Team Random very well by now but I still want to put all our best pics. The pics when we are in “real” and serious actions! Hehe.. The race consists of 5+1 checkpoints, 5 restaurants, 4 drivers, 3 Dudes, 2 laptops and 1 female “daring” driver. (the +1 is the GPS mistakes that led us to KLANG instead of PJ)
Now I managed to mosaic all food photos that we had on that day from all the 5 restaurants. Don’t get jealous yea.. Although we have additional checkpoint and extra 120 km as compare to others teams, we managed to complete the race on time. AND we are not the last qualified team to arrive! Thanks to all my team mates for all the fun time!
Now come the sad and happy time. SAD coz we didn’t win the race. No more Hong Kong and HTC Desire Z and no more second prize also but HAPPY because we get freebies from Maxis. Not only that, I really enjoyed myself very much. Thanks to Maxis and NuffnangMY for organizing this event.
My post is not finished yet. Lastly, get to camDUCK with fellow bloggers such as famous NikiCheong and all. I think both me and NikiCheong are equally leng chai. Just that, I am on the race for whole day and I did not manage to get a chance to make up, shave and wear perfume before the photoshoot.. ewww.. hehe..
What I gain in this race? Not to trust my GPS and need to brush up my sense of directions, know more fellow bloggers and really satisFATing food! Stay tune for more interesting post!

You know, this race is actually pretty awesome. We were at Saudi Arabia a few hours ago. We flew back home to Malaysia. And now we are in Thailand. Heh.
Team RANDOM is now at Thaibase, Bandar Sri Damansara, enjoying a mouth-watering Thai meal. Ahh yes, everybody loves Thai food. You don’t love Thai food? Gee, you have no idea what you missed out my friend.
Thaibase is situated in a rather inner part of Bandar Sri Damansara. One may mistake this restaurant as a Chinese restaurant due to its rather oriental design. There is however, quite an abundant number of seats so doesn’t have to worry about overcrowding here.

Fried Koay Tiaw. This is not just any tom dick harry Chinese ah beng char koay tiaw – it has a couple juicy prawns and it is not to oily nor too dry. Suitable for foodies who is VERY health-conscious.
Claypot Tofu.
A healthy combination of tofu, mushroom, prawns and come greens. The perfect meal for those who are on a strict diet.
And yes, fried rice.
Fried to perfection in terms of spiciness. Suitable for us hardcore Malaysians who can’t live without spicy food. So if you can’t stomach a plate of spicy fried rice, well, too bad.
That’s it! Off we go to the next stop.

Phew, finally our magic carpet brought us back to Malaysia. Back to Damansara Utama. Yes, we are having the famous Malaysian delicacy – Satay!
Or what the angmohs would call skewered meat. You know how much they fancy using fancy words.
So, Team RANDOM is now feasting at Sate Kajang Hj. Samuri. Contrary to popular beliefs, we are NOT at Kajang. We are at the Damansara Utama’s branch – one of Hj. Samuri’s 22 branches.
Housing a very simple restaurant layout and design, Sate Kajang Hj. Samuri appears to be like any other humble local Malay restaurant in Malaysia. Like my grandniece would usually tell me, never judge a book by its cover. And boy was she right.

Sate Kambing, Rusa, Daging and Ayam.
In simple everyday English, we had lamb skewered meat, deer skewered meat, beef skewered meat and chicken skewered meat. The specialty of these skewered meats comes in the form of their tenderness. Unlike ordinary satays, the ones here in Sate Kajang Hj. Samuri is not overly burnt, not too chewy and not too hard.
There were ketupat as well – a type of cubed rice which are basically made from, oh well, rice.
Enough with skewered meat and rice! Off we go to the next destination!

This race is definitely more exciting than the Amazing Race. We swear. The rushing adrenaline is enough to build another Twin Tower. Whatever that means.
Here we are, at our second location – Saudi Arabia. No kidding. We are at Tarbush Sunway Pyramid, which prides to be a replica of Saudi Arabia. There are camels everywhere, exotic sexy middle eastern waitress everywhere, flying carpets everywhere and of course, Aladdin.
Just kidding.
In all seriousness, Tarbush has a very authentic Arabian interior design. You remember watching Aladdin as a kid? Remember how the palace looked like? Yeap, Tarbush looks somewhat like that, just that it is air-conditioned here.

What they would called the Baba Ghanoush. No, it has nothing to do whatsoever to do with Baba and Nyonya. It’s a sourish paste made from eggplant and tomatoes that is filled in slices of pita bread. Very very appetizing.
There’s also biryani chicken.
Tender chicken encompassed with spiced rice. Or what we typical Malaysians would call Nasi Briyani. Our team decided to wrap the rice and chicken with some pita and I tell you, it is the BEST combination.
Lastly, the dessert. Mahalabia. It sounds very majestic and grand, I know.
A type of milk pudding with a generous topping of nuts on the top. When you feed yourself with just one bite of this, it’s like heaven in your mouth.
Well, that’s it from Tarbush. We shall be flying off with our flying carpets to the next destination!

As everyone know, Confucius once said “If you ain’t gonna nom nom that burget; Imma do it for you.” Yes, trust me, he said that. And he had also once said this during his visit to a humble café in PJ – “You should totally check out Strawberry Fields Cafe when you are in PJ.”
We, TEAM RANDOM are staunch Confucius followers. Yes, here we are at Strawberry Field Cafe in the Maxis Om Nom Nom race, having the most sumptuous meal of the hour. The venue is not that hard to locate, it is exactly next to the MBPJ building. The only problem that one might encounter during their visit here would be parking. Loads of shoplots but very the little parking lot. Typical Malaysian problem lah. But hey, we’re Malaysians, we can make a parking lot out of anything. Strawberry Field Café gives a very comfortable and homey feeling. We could almost fall asleep in our chairs. But you see, we couldn’t because we are like in a race and er, never mind.

Sweet & Sour Chicken Rice. The chicken was deep fried to the right tenderness and the sauce was literally a combination of sweetness and sourness. Followed by Thai Fried Eggs with Minced Chicken.
Although this dish might appear to be a little spicy, but it is not up to the extent where we need to gulp in 1 gallon of water after every bite. Mystically enough, the egg makes a pretty good combination with the sauce and minced meat. Dessert. Sago Gula Melaka.

Creative is very subjective. Winning a creative entry is very much relying on the judges’ point of view and of course your end product too. I would say luck only plays a major role here to some extent. In TikkoSS’s definition, Creative must be eye catching, genuine, ah ha factor and last but not least, interesting (kinda like when you read the first line, you want more).
I can talk whole day about creative till the cow comes home but not going to make any difference if you don’t get it. Seeing is believing. Let me share with you what I did in Nuffnang Premiere Screening – FASTER mini contest that win me a pair of tickets to the movie premiere recently.
This is not my first time winning the mini contest. (check out Nuffnang Premiere Screening – Skyline). It is a gamble when you join any contest. Winning or Losing is just part of the game. This is the area where a little luck plays a major role. The judges need to spot on your post first before they read further right? You don’t stand a chance if he/she decided NOT to look into your entries at all.
Same as the contest post One Step Closer to the Maxis Om Nom Nom Race, I received an invitation email to join Nuffnang Premiere Screening – FASTER. Very delighted indeed. Two tickets, potential to win other small freebies and the HIGHLIGHT is meeting with fellow bloggers.
This time I don’t need to travel all the way to Wangsa Walk because the premier happened to be in GSC Mid Valley. GSC Mid Valley is currently the largest multiplex in South East Asia. They have 18 screens in total and GOLD CLASS too.
I never been to Gold Class here but apparently, the feedback I received from my readers concluded that Gold Class in GSC Mid Valley is almost similar as Business Class on airplane.
AS usual, Nuffies will be there to distribute the tickets. Pretty honor to be part of NuffnangMY event. Everyone will be eyeing at you and you will feel like a superstar. Not me alone of course but as you can see the queue is pretty long.
A bit disappointed as I did not get any freebies. I thought I am early but when I reached 30 min before the Nuffnang ticket collection counter opened, I spotted many bloggers are in line awaiting for their turn. Dang, I am not as lucky as I thought.
NOT LUCKY? A short moment of disappointment does not mean that I am not lucky right? At least I still have a pair of movie tickets. Who is my date? I dated TikkoSS’s Model for that night. My MOM ! My mom has always been so supportive when I blog and she even follow my blog too. So, this is a good opportunity for her to blend into blogging community.
The cinema is awesomely big. Bigger than most cinema that I have been too. The seats are big and cozy but the screen turns out to be smaller. Smaller? I guess that is just my optic illusion. Hahaha.
Now, the movie time! Did I predict correctly when I creatively commented at first?? I will let you find out yourself. No point for me to tell you the whole story, right? I rather you watch and determine yourself. Besides, everyone has differences in opinion.
Did I like the movie? Definitely! Dwayne Johnson never disappoints me except in Scorpion King. I am not a big fan on Dwayne when he was a wrestler but now, I follow him in his movie career.
I have a splendid moment with my mom for 1hour and 38 minutes. Speed car chasing, Fighting, Violent Kills, Shooting and more importantly, unpredictable ending. AWESOME. You realize that I did not talk a lot about the movie because synopsis which is easily accessible when you google it, already describe the storyline. No point for me to echo here right? Also, I don’t like to read synopsis so that I can still get the thrilling sensation about the movie
I am 18.. hahaa.. I wish I am. You need to be 18 or above to watch this movie. Not sure if they will censor this movie later but the one that I watched did not censor at all. It means you get blood splashing, cruel kills, bullet straight to the head and NO tu…tu… tu…… (cursing, bla bla)
Great movie for me and even my mom enjoyed it very much. Didn’t know my mom like violent movie too . Another great event from NuffnangMY and looking forward for One Step Closer to the Maxis Om Nom Nom Race which is going to be tomorrow! Stay tune!

I might have a lot of friends and so do you. Forming a team with your friends to complete all the challenging tasks is a luxurious thing that not many will have.

Hey white trash! You idiot! Sluts! Besides rude, do you know that calling your kids all that are also a form of child abuse? It is called Emotional/Psychological abuse.
Stop pointing fingers. It can be from you, parents, teachers, siblings, social cliques or even bullies in school.
Few weeks back, I blogged about i) Stop Child Abuse – Physical Abuse, ii) Stop Child Abuse – Sexual Abuse and this time I am going to highlight particularly on Emotion/Psychological Abuse and Neglect.
What is emotional/psychological child abuse? And what is neglect?
The former one is the failure to provide conducive environment for the child upbringing will interfere with child’s mental health and social developments. It ranges from simple verbal insult to an extreme form of punishment which will cause long lasting negative psychiatric effect.
The later one can be divided into 3 basic types such as i) physical neglect, ii) educational neglect and iii) emotional neglect.
Why am I combining Emotional/Physiological abuse and neglect together? Firstly because more children suffer from these than from physical and sexual abuse combined. On top of that, both exist with some overlap.
Repeated neglect is a cruel abuse and it is commonly occurs. Physical neglect is the failure of providing basic necessity, education neglect is the failure of enrolling children to proper school and emotional neglect includes failure to provide emotional support love and affection to children.
To me, I do not want to see any form of child abuse because those are the cruelest acts to innocent and defendless kids.
We can make a difference by “RAISE YOUR HAND, STOP CHILD ABUSE NOW!” Support “STOP Child Abuse” and report to the authority if you happen to know that anyone is committing in these violent acts.

What is the children biggest fear? No toys, no friends or no cookies? Like many of us, their biggest fear is trusting the wrong person especially the person that suppose to care for them.
My previous Stop Child Abuse post mentioned about physical abuse. This time I am going to emphasize on sexual abuse.
Who would be the culprit? Who will be the sexual child abuser? They might be the parents, siblings, relative, babysitter, teacher, foster parents, neighbors or friends.
What is sexual abuse? Sexual abuse is sexual act between adult and child including penetration, incest, oral sex, rape, sodomy and intercourse. Not only that, fondling, exposing children to adult sexuality, commercial exploitation and violations of body privacy also consider as sexual abuse.
I would never want to see all these kind of sexual abuse to happen again. If you think about it, sexual abuse not only involves physical damage but will leave a long term emotion trauma to the victim.
What will happen to these poor victims? They need to live their life in fear at all times. Home or Hell? Home supposes to provide shelter and love to defendless children but it turns out to be their hell if sexual abuse happens.
Some signs of sexual child abuse:
- Fear of particular person including family members.
- Avoidance on things related to sexuality including rejection of own body.
- Interest in sexual acts
- Excessive aggression
- Seductiveness
If you happen to come across all the sign above, please stand up for these children. Child sexual abusers shall not be tolerated and shall be punished with heaviest penalty to avoid future reoccurrence.
