How many of you dare to share your nightmare? How many of you have the courage to stand up and start a new life? Many of you heard about Abuse, printed everywhere on the newspaper but WHAT DO YOU DO ABOUT IT?

Recently, I was invited to the 100th International Women’s Day + theatrical play of Life Sdn. Bhd: Abuse. This event is held in conjunction with International Women’s Day on March 8. The whole purpose of this event is to send out a clear message to EVERYONE to stop all form of ABUSE!

To echo the message to all walks of life, many bloggers including well known Redmummy were invited too. Although nice foods were served prior to the real event, all bloggers were too busy mingling around in sorta “ice breaking” atmosphere while waiting for celebrity ambassador to officiate the event.

The event officially started when Kal Joffres, Yuen and Daphne presented their opening speech and signing the MANifesto. WE, the invited guesses were also queuing up to sign Women: 100 MANifesto as an action to support this event and share it via social networking, Facebook.

The team welcomes the audience with approx. 5 min video clips sharing the recent news and pictures of those unfortunate Abuse victims. The room turned into pin drop silence awaiting for all crews to take their position.

Child Abuse? It is not just in the form of Physical Abuse – Stop Child Abuse but it is also includes Sexual Abuse –  Stop Child Abuse and Emotion/Psychological Abuse and Neglect – Stop Child Abuse. Many of the culprits managed to get away simply because all of us being ignorant?

Many of the victims no longer can live a normal life. They live in fear and the series of unfortunate events will be imprinted in their mind forever.   We might say we know and understand their feelings on what they have been through but DO we really know?

I am deeply honored to experience the courage of the survivors who brave enough to stand up in room filled will full audiences and share their dark moments. This is the quality that is not easy to gain unless with the strong determination to stop the cycle of ABUSE.

True and sad stories about rape, abuse, child abuse, animal abuse, sexual discrimination etc  were shared and I am touched and felt sorry about what they have been through. There is nothing much that we can do to change their past but WE can make a difference by stopping all these acts.

Personally, I enjoyed this play very much. It is not dull and gloomy at all. Besides sharing the true stories, the play involves live singing, dancing, acts and performances. Most feedbacks that I received from the audiences were commendably good.

Many feel connected with the victim and can feel straight from the bottom of their heart on what the victims been through AND determine to STOP ABUSE!

Shortly after the play, everyone is gathered right in front of the Actor Studio Lot 10 for lucky draw and continue signing the MANifesto. Honestly, I can see everyone felt impressed with play and wanting to speak to the crews immediately.

Before the event ends, all of us, bloggers tried to gather around for short photo shoot and of course, not to forget the photo shoot of the mini cupcakes that showing WOMEN 100.

Last message that I have for all readers: Share this with all your friends, family, colleagues, relatives etc. We might be small but together we can make a difference! Stop ABUSE!

Please visit the official website at MANifesto and share with your friends by sharing Women 100 Facebook or follow their KakiseniTweets.

Hey white trash! You idiot! Sluts! Besides rude, do you know that calling your kids all that are also a form of child abuse? It is called Emotional/Psychological abuse.

Stop pointing fingers. It can be from you, parents, teachers, siblings, social cliques or even bullies in school.

Few weeks back, I blogged about i) Stop Child Abuse – Physical Abuse, ii) Stop Child Abuse – Sexual Abuse and this time I am going to highlight particularly on Emotion/Psychological Abuse and Neglect.

What is emotional/psychological child abuse? And what is neglect?

The former one is the failure to provide conducive environment for the child upbringing will interfere with child’s mental health and social developments. It ranges from simple verbal insult to an extreme form of punishment which will cause long lasting negative psychiatric effect.

The later one can be divided into 3 basic types such as i) physical neglect, ii) educational neglect and iii) emotional neglect.

Why am I combining Emotional/Physiological abuse and neglect together? Firstly because more children suffer from these than from physical and sexual abuse combined. On top of that, both exist with some overlap.

Repeated neglect is a cruel abuse and it is commonly occurs. Physical neglect is the failure of providing basic necessity, education neglect is the failure of enrolling children to proper school and emotional neglect includes failure to provide emotional support love and affection to children.

To me, I do not want to see any form of child abuse because those are the cruelest acts to innocent and defendless kids.

What is the children biggest fear? No toys, no friends or no cookies? Like many of us, their biggest fear is trusting the wrong person especially the person that suppose to care for them.

My previous Stop Child Abuse post mentioned about physical abuse. This time I am going to emphasize on sexual abuse.

Who would be the culprit? Who will be the sexual child abuser? They might be the parents, siblings, relative, babysitter, teacher, foster parents, neighbors or friends.

What is sexual abuse? Sexual abuse is sexual act between adult and child including penetration, incest, oral sex, rape, sodomy and intercourse. Not only that, fondling, exposing children to adult sexuality, commercial exploitation and violations of body privacy also consider as sexual abuse.

I would never want to see all these kind of sexual abuse to happen again. If you think about it, sexual abuse not only involves physical damage but will leave a long term emotion trauma to the victim.

What will happen to these poor victims? They need to live their life in fear at all times. Home or Hell? Home supposes to provide shelter and love to defendless children but it turns out to be their hell if sexual abuse happens.

Some signs of sexual child abuse:

  • Fear of particular person including family members.
  • Avoidance on things related to sexuality including rejection of own body.
  • Interest in sexual acts
  • Excessive aggression
  • Seductiveness

If you happen to come across all the sign above, please stand up for these children. Child sexual abusers shall not be tolerated and shall be punished with heaviest penalty to avoid future reoccurrence.

Close your eyes and imagine how you feel if you are abused physically? Wait.. Don’t close your eyes now else you will not be able to read what I posted.  Sorry, I apologized. Apologize on what?

When come to child abuse, I should not joke about it. This is going to be a serious post to address on child abuse particularly on physical abuse. STOP child abuse! That will be the final message to all.

What is Physical Child abuse? Physical child abuse is an injury resulting from physical aggressiveness. It involves slapping, hitting, pinching, kicking, beating, burning, choking, pushing, shaking etc.

Actually I would never want to see any child abuse acts at all but considering burning and cigarette burn are the common child abuse acts, I would never want to see it happens again.

Cigarette is already bad for health for both smoker and second hand inhaler. The act of burning with cigarette is a form of torture, inhuman and should not be tolerated.

Some signs of physical cigarette burn child abuse:

  • Burns marks especially in private or hidden body parts
  • Child resistance to go home
  • Child fear of adults

Children require love, care and secure place to grow up. They are incapable of defending and weak in protecting themselves from adults’ abuse acts.

Many of us are living in luxurious lifestyles that we “use money that we don’t have, to buy something that we don’t need, to impress someone that we don’t like”. This is a quote that I absorbed from Reader’s Digest. It is very meaningful but the question is “Is it wrong” ?  Find out more in TikkoSS’s Charity

Please make a donation. A small dollar from you can make a BIG change for tomorrow. Thank you !

This is for charitable purposes. The collection will be donated to old folks homes, orphanage homes, single parents, victims of natural disaster etc.
