Did you know that ancient people secured food through two methods, hunting and gathering and agricultural? Due to civilization and globalization, lands become very limited for agricultural activities, mostly filled with modern buildings.

Hunting is proven working for centuries. Great method should be cultivated to prevent extinction. That is why, TikkoSS always hunt for food to feed his fat.

If you follow my blog, you must have come across Food Hunting in KimChiLand (part 1/2) and Food Hunting in KimChiLand (part 2/2) before. This is another food hunting but in different land, in “Pirate”land.

Not only Wang Fu Jing is a famous shopping street, this place is a heaven of oriental food. If you are a big eater with bottomless stomach like me, you can easily get it filled here with various local and traditional food.

Do not walk on the main street as you will only find fast food restaurants or high class cafés. Try on back alley. If you are not adventurous enough or have a weak stomach, please bring along your stomachache medication :P

Please stop reading this if you are in diet mode or hungry. The following food hunt evidences will definitely help anorexic to build their desire to eat more! Over here, you get a lot of desserts, drinks, cookies.. more like if you name it, you get it.

If you happen to be here, give it a try on local yogurt. It is sourishly refreshing. If you drink on spot and return the bottle, you save about 1 RMB (~RM0.50) but hey, if you like agriculture, the bottles are just nice as an alternative to vase.

Well, there are plenty of foods here but I can only select few to write. One of the “DO NOT TRY” is the stinky beancurd. From the innocent appearance, I thought it is just a normal fried beancurd with deliciously tempting sauce.

BUT HELL NO.. the smell is awfully disgusting. I tried this stinky stuff before inMalaysiaand I am not a big fan of it although it tastes not too bad when you put in your mouth. Now, is another fear factor moment for me.

DANG..it tastes even worse when you munch it. The feeling is like biting a piece of hard-soft textured S*** in your mouth. YUKS! Make sure you have mouth refresher later..

On the other side of the coins, the BBQ scallops and osyters are a must try. If I remember correctly, I think it is only cost about RMB 5-10 (RM 2.50 – RM 5.00). Cheap and so not the same like the stinky beancurd.

Both are slightly cheesy and spicy but with nice fragrant especially when it is newly barbequed. The seafood here apparently is very fresh although I did not spotted any water source beside the Wang Fu Well .. hehe

If you think that is about it, you are so wrong. The food street does not end here. If you are patient enough to walk around, I bet you will find a lot other interesting delicacies such as china-made meat burger, desserts and pastries. All are equally delicious.

Not to shock you, I have removed most of the foods that I ate that day and only show you 1% of food that I tried. :P Some good and some bad .. I mean really bad but hey, it is not the foods but it is the adventure that counts, right?

Have you ever think about why is it 360o and not 400o or 800o? 360 is an approximate number of days, a full rotation of arc and an equivalent of 2π. Sometimes, 360o is also referred to oo as both are pointing in the same direction in geometrical chart.

Don’t be shocked if you see 361o in China. It is not a mistake as everything is possible in China. In fact, 361o is one of the famous brands here in mainland. Being 1o ahead of everyone or only 1o as compare to others is something you have to figure it out.

More like if I tell you, I will have to kill you kinda thingy. BUT what I can tell you is this “well”, once a source of soul saviour, an elixir of life which now turned into the famous landmark in Beijing.

IF you are a shopaholic, you might want to inform your driver to bring you here, to Wang Fu Jing Street. Don’t get cheated by the skyscraper shopping mall as the jewel is just right below your feet.

Shopping is not my cup of strawberry juice but food and interesting handicraft are. Instead of paying few hundred bucks for Chinese orchestra, you get one here for free. Maybe my right brain was not at work at that time but definitely I need an ear muff :P

A few skilled handymen were spotted while sneaking around the back alley. Not to worry as this place is kind of safe except you need to particularly look after your own wallet and purse.

If you are there, you must catch these two miniature model maker and soap crafter. Their fine artworks are stunningly detailed.

Just like any other tourist attraction spot, you get almost everything you want to see. A lot of live performers, exhibitions, high tech electronic stuffs bla bla. I am lucky to catch the BMW M3 Tiger Edition official launching.

Nothing special about the car except it is expensive with citrusy striking color. Coincidently, I came across a stall that sells interesting dynamic LED display on T-Shirt. Oh yea.. light up with colourful message when you wear it. Creative isn’t it?

Not only that, I covertly snapped a few photos that are irresistibly interesting. Don’t think a side when you see a t-shirt with a printed wording “I Love BJ”. It means nothing but I Love BlackJack. Yea.. BlackJack.

See.. the “Chinese version” of Obama is in traditional Communist uniform. Please don’t confuse with “real” President Obama in US when you see this. He might not be very happy to know about this.

Before end this, ICBC bank also caught my attention because ICBC means want die cannot die in Hokkien.. ROFLMAO.. There are plenty more things to see and you should experience it yourself.

Why you didn’t update your blog on time? Why I rarely see you in Twitter? Am I lost in virtual world? So many why and I also wonder why?

To cut the explanations short, I do update my write my blog on regular basis. It is just that I do not have a stable internet connection to upload it. The biggest struggle here is to get access on twitter as I need a dedicated VPN to break the China Great firewall. Lost? Neh.. it is more like I don’t have access at all.

Where am I? I am in a small place province in China called Huangdao. Proly about 1.5 hours drive from Qingdao before this before the launching of Jiaozhou Bay Bridge and Qing-Huang Tunnel on 1 July 2011.

If you are bad in geography like I do, put the coordinate in Google Map and I am sure my best buddy can help you up.

What is Jiaozhou Bridge and Qing-Huang Tunnel? You seriously ask that question? You didn’t read news? That is the longest bridge in the world. Yes, another man made wonders in China.

Still not too late, I have included a photo of the opening ceremony to keep you informed on what is happening in the world :P .. marvelous isn’t it? I mean the bridge.. hehe..

You might not be able to see the undersea tunnel. If you do, I will be very amaze. So, I decided to get a snapshot on what exactly I am talking about tunnel when all you see is just the bridge.

Honestly, I do not feel the “grand-ness” of the tunnel as it looks like any other tunnel to me unless it is made by transparent glasses. No leak observed so I am pretty sure it is safe to travel.

Like many other mega projects, this bridge was built with monstrous sophisticated machines. I am not too interested in the construction bid of it but more interested in what it can do.

However, I am really curious on how they made the tunnel. Honestly, I have no clue except they will be working in a very dark and cold environment.  Hehe.. poor hard worker or machines maybe?

If you really lazy read, forget about it. Just enjoy all the nice photos then and here is the last one..

I am not sure if you know that I have visited Dalian, China recently. The geographic scale is almost the same like Qingdao but slightly more happening in my opinion. I was shocked when the tour guide told me that there is a 7 stars hotel.

I thought there is only one 7 stars hotel which is Al-Burj, Dubai. A night stay over there is equivalent to almost 2 x average monthly salary in Malaysia. Yea.. it is about RM 4000 ++/night.

Surprisingly, the tour guide said this 7 stars hotel only cost <RMB 1000 per night. Without hesitation, I requested the tourist guide to bring me there. Deep down, I know I should not trust him or I should not expect an Al-Burj a-like hotel.

When arrived, I am stunt. Not because I am amaze but more like freak out. This beach hotel is no way close to 7 stars, the max I gave is only 4 +/-. So I approach the tour guide.

Me: Mr. A (tourist guide), I thought you said this hotel is 7 stars. Looking the facilities and location, I think the max I can give is 4 stars. It is way too far from 7 stars.

Mr. A: No no no, you can ask any one here if you don’t trust me.

So, I decided to ask the passerby.

Me: Sir, can you tell me how many stars is this hotel?

Mr. B (passerby): 7 stars, no doubt. The one and only in China and we are so proud of it.

After that, I turned my head and asked the tourist guide again for clarification.

Me: Mr. A, how can this hotel receive a 7 stars hotel rating? I might not visit Al-Burj before but this is definitely not 7 stars in my eyes. Don’t tell me that China is using different rating system or the hotel name is 7 stars?

Mr. A: Nono, this hotel is based on international rating and not the local one and it is not called 7 stars?

Me: Then why is it ranks 7 stars?

Mr. A: This hotel is divided into seaview and cityview and run by two different managements under same hotel name. Normally, the seaview is 4 stars and city view is 3 stars. So in combination, it is 7 stars..

Me: Arghh.. (speechless)

Lesson Learnt: Don’t jump into conclusion too early.

There is always a battle between Engineer vs Manager. Many speculate on why this happen but no one manage to find the right justification. Probably because of their brain built that Engineers mostly classify as a person who can process complicated stuffs to make it more complicated.

On the other side, Manager’s brain functions in such that no one can understand them. I mean no one “can” really understand them. Both equally like to make simple thing complicated but none will admit the mistakes. I find this hilarious but if you peruse carefully, it does realistically portray the actual situation to certain extend.

A man in a hot air balloon realized he was lost. He reduced altitude and spotted a man below. He descended a bit more and shouted, “Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don’t know where I am.”

The man below replied, “You’re in a hot air balloon hovering approximately 30 feet above the ground. You’re between 40 and 41 degrees north latitude and between 59 and 60 degrees west longitude”

“You must be in engineering,” said the balloonist.

“I am,” replied the man, “How did you know?”

“Well,” answered the balloonist, “everything you told me is technically correct, but I’ve no idea what to make of your information, and the fact is I’m still lost. Frankly, you’ve not been much help at all. If anything, you’ve delayed my trip.”

The man below responded, “You must be in Management.”

“I am,” replied the balloonist, “but you did you know?”

“Well,” said the man, “you don’t know where you are or where you’re going. You have risen to where you are due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise, which you’ve no idea how to keep, and you expect people beneath you to solve your problems. The fact is you are in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but now, somehow, it’s my fault.”

It is not a crime if you don’t feel like making your own breakfast. It is just a sign of laziness that flow in your bloodstream. Please don’t blame me for having a luxurious breakfast when I know roti canai in mamak stall is just < RM 1

If you read my post on Prince Hotel & Residence KL, you know that I got a complimentary breakfast here. From my hard scouting work, I managed to locate a breakfast spot on ground floor of this hotel. (Duh.. most of the restaurant located at ground floor)

From far, you can smell the fragrant of the typical Asian and Western breakfast. Entering the restaurant is like entering the heaven of food. You might not realize that especially when every local food is within your reach.

Try when you did not come in contact with Malaysian Food for the few months. The feeling is like ant dying for sugar.

Like many restaurant, this place serves Asian cuisines, Western breakfast, cereals, desserts, drinks etc. If you are still fuzzy about it, there are few dedicated chefs cook for you. Name it and normally you won’t get it, except for omelets, scramble eggs or fried eggs.

As many might know, the kitchen crews will freshly prepare the food in the very early in the morning before the arrival of guests. This is to ensure all the hotel guest will be fed when the clock is ticking at 6am.

I got lucky when I reach just about 30 min before 10 am. All the food is still there. It shows that the chefs are constantly re-filling the food. Yes.. it is a buffet style and that makes me like it even more.

Nasi Lemak is a must. It is served with beef and chicken rendang, sambal, anchovies, eggs and my very own mixture with bacons and pancakes. My hungry stomach got better when I finished up my second round of western breakfast.

Burpp.. Asian + Western + fresh fruits = perfect breakfast. If you are in KL and want to try something extraordinary, make sure you drop by here. It is not about the food but it is the ambience that counts!

I have a dream, a dream of becoming a prince. Why not King? Well, King needs to rule and theoretically no time for himself but on the other hand, prince has all the wealth and power to enjoy!

Stereotype? Hmm.. a little.. Dream is always a dream, it is realistically not achievable. That is why it is called dream. Since I know on solid ground I will not be prince, I need to find an alternative, something similar but not exactly similar.

I wanted to enjoy like prince, eat like prince and stay like prince. That is why, I decided to reside in Prince Hotel for few days. Although there is no red carpet to welcome me, but deep down, I know I am at right place.

The lobby is somewhat grand to me. Nice chandelier which reminds me of palace for a short while. Not so grand from the photos? That is exactly my intention. If you want to feel it, you have to get there yourself!

Stunt by the curvy stairs, I spent few minutes to ‘feel’ the ambience. Nice architecture but not practically fit for purpose. I carried out this test. I used escalator to second floor and climb again with the curvy stairs. My advice is to take the escalator as you will save half of the time :P .. duh..

Then I saw this big jade ship just right beside the elevator. For Feng Shui? For Decoration? Or another way to spend the money? I think it is a bit of all. I don’t really bother the jade ship but I am really bothered by “NO Durian” Sign. How sad.. :(

Durian lovers, please don’t attempt to sneak in your favorite food here .. hahaha

The moment I walked into my room, I got a clear assurance that I am going to have a good stay. First, I will jump up and down on the springy bed to quality test the bed. Then, will walk straight to the mini bar to check out what is free.

Last but not least, I will rush to toilet to snap few photos as an evident that the cleaners do clean the toilet. Hahaha.. All in tip top condition. No doubt, it is worth for the money.

Swimming pool and gym in hotel are always common except when you are inChina. I would say these are must have facilities not for people to swim and workout only but to wash their eyes too. And the golden rule is, it must be very well maintained.

Obviously you are not expecting green algae or muddy water right? Over here, you can also stay relaxed with the Thai Spa that serves your from top till bottom. Ha! I don’t mean that ‘bottom’ tho.

Be a prince or not, I would suggest you to tryout this hotel that located in the middle of KL City Centre.

Why do you pay to reside in hotel? Wanting to feel like home when you are abroad? Of course not. Many believe that good hotel should make you feel like home. WRONG. Absolutely wrong.

As a conscious person, you know that you don’t need to pay so much if you want to feel like home. Just go home! I am not a sentimental who will miss home, but definitely a person who knows how to make worth the money that pour out.

Having Twin Tower in Malaysia is not new anymore but I am not sure if you know there is a twin hotel in Malaysia too?  Not KLCC but Hilton and Le Meridien. This twin hotels stand proudly in the middle of KL Sentral.

If you don’t have sense of direction, this hotel is just beside KL Sentral. As long as you know which entrance to enter, you are in good hand. Remember left is Hilton and right is Le Meridien. I only try the Le Meridien .. so don’t ask me anything about Hilton.

This is no way close to safe house. No bullet proof glass, no fireproof door, no security door, no vault bla bla. Like any other similar range hotel, the room is equipped with electronically secured door, digital safe box, LCD screens and internet of course.

You might remember ‘Heavenly Bed’ in Westin Hotel. I know because I have tried it. Talking about bed, I bet you can sense the comfy bed from the photos above. Not only that, I love when this hotel has a ‘relaxing corner’, comfy chair with amazing views.

Nice view eh? Oh yea.. you get to see a portion of KL view. Too bad it is only a small portion. Bear with the lousy photos as I don’t have CPL filter with me that time. Is the thought that counts right?

The night view is superb considering you get to see the streetlight and traffic jams too! You get to see a lake from far as well but this view is compromised by the nearby construction site.

Now comes the interesting part. Beside nice KL view, you get to see a ‘very’ nice view at the pool. No doubt, it will be nicer view if you are in the pool. If you think the view is still not good enough, try to hop in to the GYM.

Of all the hotels that I have visited before, I would consider this hotel facilities are impressive, nicely design and decorated design etc.  Also, all these facilities are shared between the guest in Hilton and Le Meridien. So, all the facilities are very well maintained by the two hotels.

Try it out when you are there!

In a company, average age among the colleagues is very pertinent as it is a gauge of team performance. Young means the team is inexperience, need a lot of guidance and flexible in adapting to changes.

On the other hand, old means the team is very experience, mature and often will use old school method. This group is better known as ‘old dinosaur’.  Old is not a crime infact, I respect them for what they have been through although I don’t deny that it can get a little rough sometime.

Recently a friend of mine shares his working experience and this conversation was captured:

Mr. X (40 years old) : Did you know, Bob (30 years old), the piping engineer  is leaving us soon? How sad..

Mr. Y (50 years old) : Ohh is he the one that lower the team’s average age from 45 to 35? I remembered that for a short moment, I felt young again.

Mr. X: Yes, you are right! That Bob. That time, our manager (50 years old) happily announced our group average age has dropped. Sadly, he got a heart attack yesterday after a memo was sent to him regarding Bob’s successor.

Mr. Y: Is he inexperienced? Normally, it is rather hard to train someone to be up to speed. There is still a big vacuum to fill. I hope the transition period is not the main cause of his heart attack.

Mr. X: No no, this new guy is very experience. He is probably the most experience person in the project. He is 65++++ years old. As soon as our manager received that note, he fainted as the average team age is shooting rocket high.

Mr. Y: I bet he will be the right guy to fill the shoe. I think you need to watch over him as he might be ‘leaving’ the team anytime.  Ohh.. I think this project might potential has the first funeral too..

Mr. X: Yea, that might posses a very high safety and health risk to the project. Too bad the office is not ergonomically built for wheel chair just in case he needs it. I really wonder how he even passes the pre-employment medical check. Maybe his experience supercede the medical requirement.

Mr. Y: I bet.. He should be very experience in almost ‘everything’ at his age.  On technical side, I have no doubt considering he might started his pipeline career when bamboo was used as fluid transferring medium.

Mr. X: It is bad to say that, but I bet his first technical course is ‘how to use the calculator’. Wait a minutes, do they even have calculator back then?
