Few days ago, while dating my dreamgirl, all of the sudden the dream turned wild. I know what you are thinking. No..not turning into WET but it turned into terrified horror when I appear to be a victim of drought and famine.

Guess what, in a split second, char siu, siu yok and siu kai dropped from the sky like in the movie Meatballs. Maybe I watch too many movies but the point is, I woke up craving for all these siu siu siu rice.

Reality slapped me when I realized that I am in the middle of Chinaland. So, how to ease my craving? No choice but to flip back at all my photos and I found this place. This is the closest I can get.

Kedai Makanan Wing Heong is always the right choice. Not only it cans fill your stomach easily when you are there physically but it also can ease your cravings when you are not there! Don’t be surprise what you can get in this small hawker stalls.

Cockroaches? Unhygienic place? No no.. this place is surprisingly decent. I will not use the word clean but it is free from ‘uninvited’ small crawling creatures and at least my stomach did not reject the food after that.

Some people have no money to buy a decent food. In my case, I am not rich but I cannot get decent food now even I have some money. This place is definitely affordable. With only about RM 3.50 – RM 9, you can get a lifetime experience to eat the tastiest siu yok or siu kai or char siu freshly chop for you.. imagine that !

Seafood?? Unfortunately this is not a seafood place. Too bad..However, this place serves very delicious assamfish. I might be slightly bias when I said this but I prefer assamfish here as compare to Restoran Peng Heong Hakka Paikut.

On top of that, they also serve “dan tong”. That time, I tried the chicken “sayong choi tong”. Ok.. don’t be critical on me as I don’t know how to translate all these in English. Besides, even if you speak English to them, I doubt they will know.

Both the BBQ chicken and pork are my all favorite here. It is nicely cooked and the chicken is slightly soft and tendery. Not over cook of course as I can still taste the juicy pork. The roasted pork is a must try. The texture is good and I particularly love the crispy skins.

You can call me pork lover but I don’t think I can survive a day without pork. That is why my plan on becoming a vegetarian is just a wishful thinking and never materializes. Food is excellent, price is affordable except slightly warm and definitely worth to give it a try when you are around the vicinity.

Photography skill is an art that is close to impossible to acquire overnight. Many might own DSLR but not many can take good photos. Owning a full frame camera and pro lenses do not make you a pro. It only shows that you are rich.

You do not need to be rich to be a good photographer. Having said that, taking photography as hobby can be very expensive as the lens itself can cost up to few thousand dollars. The ability to buy the hardware is one thing and improving the end product is completely different ball game.

Learning about photography is getting easier nowadays with DSLR. Not like ancient film SLR where you need time to develop the photos to evaluate the outcome. Now, you can see the result instantly and alter the parameters by previewing over the LCD screen. It gets even easier with Live View.

Alternatively, majority will go to photography courses or join the field photography group to learn the fundamentals, tricks and sharing their perspectives. Contrary to popular believe, I decided to take up this challenge and learn everything myself from scratch.

Building the learning curve leads me to a lot of try and error. More like hitting my head and learn. I bet that is what many say, failure is a ladder of success. In my own defence, I was at wrong time at wrong place.

Let me share this and I considered this as one of the most memorable moment in the history of my photography adventure (<6 months). I bought a 77mm CPL (circular polarizer filter) recently for my 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM. I did not go for B+W but rather a local made as it was meant for experimental.

After spending about few hundred dollars, I am so eager to try out the filter but at the same time, I am too busy with my ‘daily commitment’ and only free after 8pm every day. So, I decided to give it a try to shot a light tower from my balcony window.

Not long before I realized that my CPL filter did not improve the photos at all and I can still see glare from the viewfinder. I also cannot see the different contrast and not even close to get a nice shot. I told myself, “I should not resort in cheaper filters or maybe I got cheated for a lousy piece of glass instead of filter!”

After few weeks, I read this, “CPL filter only works on day time as it filters out light polarized perpendicular to the axis of the filter. By having the filter, it will reduces the reflection from some surface, darken the sky and saturates the image by eliminating the unwanted reflection.”

So, I have learned a lesson that I wish to share here. Photography is not about stealing the show on who can produce the best photos or what you use to shoot it. If you don’t have the photography skills and knowledge, your style with cool camera is just for demonstration and the outcome is not for presentation.

My advice is, “Learn from expert and never buy anything without knowing what it can do or what is the limitation.”

Walking in multilevel shopping mall can be very tiring especially when you carry an UN-detachable weight of 80 kg with you. Not literally carry but I am referring to the tummy and fat if you have one.

It gets frustrating when you are in urgent need for nature call. What I mean is when you need to do the “big” stuff. Hunting for toilet is never easy especially in a congested mall.

This foreign gentleman was happily shopping with his gf when suddenly the nature call. Not knowing how to read in Chinese, he was rushing for toilet to ease himself. After hunting in few different levels, he can sense that the ‘thing’ is an inch close to explode.

One good Samaritan noticed his awkward behavior and told him that the nearest toilet is at the ground level and that is 5 story down. So he used his last energy to keep the flesh close and quickly rush to the ground floor by escalator.

Before reaching the ground floor, he sighted a toilet sign above him.  Without hesitation he dashed to the toilet and released himself. Quite an explosion I have to say.

All of the sudden, many people knocked on his door. Wondering on what exactly happen, he realized there is no toilet paper and not water. Feeling embarrassed, he used a side flyer to clean himself.

To his greatest surprise, when he opened the door, a lot of salesman waiting for him with angry faces. He paused for a few moments and soon after that, he realized that he was actually in showroom for toilet demo.

AS you know, plagiarizing other’s work is a cheap shot to gain success. I am a believer in originality or genuine post as many people might know. There is no post is a bad post as it is a proof of one’s hard work and effort.

But today, I am going to break this rules to share with you something that I personally think is humorously meaningful. This is a snapshot from Virtual Hilarity in Reader Digest, February 2003 edition:

Jesus and Satan were arguing over who was better with computer. Finally God suggested a way to settle it: Each would spend two hours using spreadsheets, designing web pages, making charts and tables.

Two sat at their keyboards and began typing furiously. Just before the two hours were up, the power went out. Once it came back on, they booted their computers.

“It’s gone! It’s all gone!” Satan screamed. “My work was destroyed!”

Meanwhile, Jesus began printing out his work. “Hey, he must have cheated!” Satan yelled. “How come his stuff wasn’t lost?”

God shrugged and said simply, “Jesus saves.”

If you are holding a DSLR, you are prone to unnecessary attention. Is it cute girls asking you to take their photos? Neh.. not that kind of attention but people tend to have a bias views on you.

It is rather hard to hide your skills especially when people thought that you are paparazzi, private detective or maybe you are a nerdy photographer. Not knowing the real you, they will just stopped you and said, “Sir, you are not allowed to take photos in here”.

Hello, I have not even turn on my camera or open my lens cover yet. Duh.. Should I laugh at their ignorant or appreciate their courtesy? This is not a joke, k? This is based on true story that happened when I was in Golden Lounges in various countries.

To avoid superfluous embarrassment, my wife a.k.a iPhone will normally come very handy. What I normally do here is sneaking around all “business” men and catch them with their silly stunts :P . Some caught sleeping with drooling effect :P

Beside free food and drinks, free internet, free bla bla bla, there is a spot which I fail to take photos, the massage room. I really wonder if there is a pretty masseuse on action or just a robotic massage chair?

Remember all long queues before boarding the plane? It is not happening this time. Lucky me because I get to go through the priority lane like any other aging man, pregnant lady or those with kids. Yea I am pregnant and still like kids :P

Not to mention there was an air stewardess stopped me and said, “Sir, you have to queue up in economy lane” and stunt later after saw my ticket. Before the plane board, I managed to camDUCK myself in golden class.

Yea.. I didn’t dress up smartly when I travel, normally with only t-shirt and jeans. Sometime I didn’t even comb my hair or with my unshaved moustache. Why need to dress up? I thought we suppose to travel comfortably? Besides, I have no one to impress as well!

Why I like to travel? Free food! And in-flight entertainment. Before they served me with appetizer, an air stewardess approached me and asked for my age. She claimed that I am very young.

That conversation is not related to this post but would like to emphasize that she claimed “I am very YOUNG” hehe..

There is nothing much to talk about in-flight appetizers. Why? The portion is too small and I finished it before it can activate my taste buds.

But the main course is different! Absolutely different! Most of the time, you get a few choices, Western, Asians or local food. I managed to capture all main courses that I took from all the flights that I board recently.

Of all, there is one special one. Bim Bim Bak. This is a traditional Korean rice with mix vege, meats and pickles (see photos above – the bottom one). I called it “rojak” rice as you need to mix everything in on bowl before you dine it.

All taste equally good but a meal is never complete without dessert. Strawberry Haagan Dazs was served as dessert. Once I tried it, I want more.. hehe.. ice cream always makes me happy and that is why I label it as happy food.

What I do next on the plane? Watch movie and sleep laa.. What else I can do, right? Err.. Ok.. I was disturbed by a group air stewardess as usual.. Not I disturb but being disturbed instead.. wonder why but I am going to censor that in here.
