DuViet Vietnamese Cuisine

Hey, do you want to learn Vietnamese language? My friend suggested that the best way to learn is to get a Vietnamese girlfriend. Beside a guarantee success, you will be fed with Vietnamese cuisine all the time.

If you are not that lucky, don’t be upset! I can resolve your food issue. While happily drying my wallet in KLCC, I came across DuViet Vietnamese Cuisine. Without hesitation, my guts feel tells me that this place will be good.

If you are hoping to dine in Vietnamese atmosphere, please forget about it! This restaurant is kind of modern and nothing resembles the Vietnamese culture. Most of the waiters/waitresses don’t speak Vietnamese language too.

This restaurant can get really crowded during lunch and dinner. So, either you avoid the peak hours or bring your earplug if you want to .

As many might know, Vietnamese cuisine can be very diverse, commonly split into north, central and south styles. Don’t ask me which style they are serving but this restaurant located at the south of KLCC.. hehe..

Luckily the menu is in both Vietnamese and English. With limited knowledge on Vietnamese cuisine, I decided to order house specialties as they can never go wrong. On my appetizer list are Stuffed Chicken Wings (6 pcs) and “Bahn Hoi” (Wrap & Roll Special Platter).

The chicken wings here are not the ordinary chicken wings. They are stuffed with meat, mushroom, egg, rice noodles etc. The wrap & roll platter taste as good as it sounds. A slight dip in the chili sauce will perfect the taste more.

There are too many house specialties, so I decided to try most of them. I ordered “Com Chien” (Du Viet Special Fried Rice), “Ca Nuong” (Grilled Lemongrass Fish on Banana Leaf), “Pho Ba Dac Biet” (Traditional Mixed Beed Noodle).

Considering that this is my first time dining in Vietnamese restaurant, I reserve my comments on all the dishes. How to compare if you don’t have the initial baseline, right?

All I can say is that I like the grilled fish very much. The taste is slightly different than SS2 Foodcourt and Lorong Selamat Ikan Bakar but is equally good. The fried rice and noodles are also yummy too.

Enough? Almost! I continued to order Mixed Vegetables and “Pho Hai San” (Special Seafood Soup Noodle). The vegetable is so so only but the seafood soup is deliciously nice. Slightly spicy but it is bearable. The seafood is quite fresh too !!!

The Homemade Lemongrass Ginger Tea is quite special. It tastes a bit awkward when I first drink it but I just love it now. You should probably give it a try also! I spent almost RM 200 for 2 person. Expensive? I think it is quite reasonable
