What will you do if you are tasked to use only RM 50 to get a scrumptious dinner. RM 50 is quite a lot for dinner especially for average earning people like me. To make the whole task more challenging, the requirement is to have more than 3 dishes for 2 persons and both must be satisfied with the food and the dessert too.

Sounds challenging? YES and NO. YES because food are getting more expensive nowadays with high inflation rate etc. You can easily spend RM 50 for a simple meal. If you decided to go for a better one, it can easily cost you over RM 100 +.  NO when you know where to go for the right food at the right place.

I have been introduced to SS2 foodcourt to complete this task. I drove about 15 min from my house and with the assistance from my best buddy “Dumb Dumb” (callsign for my Garmin GPS :p ), I finally arrived at the location. This place has many food stalls and it is very crowded too.

Many of the stalls here appeared either on TV or in newspaper. Wonderful isn’t it? First stall that strikes me is the Ikan Bakar (grilled fish). The stall does not only sells grilled fish but many other seafood too. You can choose your own seafood and they will grilled for you immediately. I ordered stingray as a start.

Then I walked to Penang Fried Kueh Teow Stall. I will never miss Penang Fried Kuey Teow? A friend of mine once told me, the taste will never go wrong if you order fried kuey teow especially when you do not know what to order. Er.. personally I have few bad experiences on Penang Char Kuey Teow before. I called it imitation Char Kuey Teow :p . Let me not go into details for that now.

There is a hidden menu that did not publish out. It is called Penang mee goreng mamak. I did not realise until someone ordered it. Apparently, that is one of the famous food from this stall. So, I decided to place my second and third order which is char kuey teow and mee goreng mamak. Don’t worry, they are meant for 2 person as mentioned earlier right?

Now comes the dessert. I managed to locate this stall that sells various type of chinese dessert. Nothing special about this stall except it is run by not chinese although I mentioned “chinese” desserts :) . I ordered Leng Chi Kang by the way.

After about 10 minutes of waiting, all the food were served. Judging from the pictures, I managed to order more than 3 delicious dishes for 2 person with dessert too ! If you noticed I ordered Hong Kong Chee Cheong Fun too as I still have some leftover money.

All the food that I have just ordered taste really good and up to my expectation. The mee goreng mamak taste exactly like what I use to have in Penang and I love it so much. The ikan bakar (grilled fish) and char kuey teow taste better than it looks from the pictures.

Last objective is to finish all the food ordered as hard sign that the food are delicious. As much as the portions are quite big, both me and my friend managed to finish all the food ordered with no leftovers. Mission Accomplished. With only RM 50 for 2 person, my dinner become exciting when both of us decided to spend on SS2 Foodcourt.
